Bascially, the Roadmaster Base Plates, # 118-1, will attach flat to the frame on the front of your 1993 Geo Tracker. We have not yet had the opportunity to install the base plates on a vehicle so we do not have pictures at this time. These base plates are what are called fixed brackets so they will always be visible on the vehicle. I recommend going with the XL style, # 118-3, which has removable arms, but otherwise install the same way.
There are several other parts you will need to safely flat tow the vehicle including tow bar. The most popular option for standard or XL base plates is the Falcon 2, # RM-520. I have included a link to the installation details and a link to a video review of the tow bar for you.
You will also need safety cables and lighting. For safety cables, I recommend the Coiled Cables, # RM-643. The coiled design helps keep the cables off of the ground. For lighting there are several options depending on your needs and how often you will be towing the vehicle. I have included a link to an FAQ article on the various options for you.
Most states now require supplemental braking on the vehicle being towed. The easiest system to set up and use is the Even Brake, # RM-9400. This is a proportional system that applies the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much to tow vehicle is braking. Proportional systems are the safest way to stop and they reduce wear and tear on both vehicles.
I have also included a link to our series of articles on flat towing for you.
