Since Yakima was unable to confirm a fit at this time for the 2015.5, I made a call our local Volvo dealer to obtain some information. My contact there states that the factory installed rails on the 2015.5 Volvo XC70 are the same as those on the 2015 model. Most likely a pin in one of the connectors of the Curt trailer wiring harness # C56386 isn't seated properly and your interior light is somehow shorting to a circuit with power all the time which is causing it to be on all the time.
Try removing the harness to first see if the problem goes away and then from there reinstall it to see if reconnecting the connectors causes the pins to seat better and the problem to go away.
