I checked out the owner's manual for a 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer and according to this, the vehicle can only be transported on a tow dolly. I have a solution but with the spoiler on the Lancer you will not be able to safely carry bikes using a trunk mount rack. Instead the SeaSucker Mini Bomber Roof 2 Bike Rack part # Item # 298-BM2006 will allow you to carry 2 bikes or the SeaSucker Bomber Roof 3 Bike Rack part # 298-BB3008 to carry three bikes.
