  • Do Install Bolts for Curt Hitch of 2016 Ford Flex Use Factory Weldnuts
  • Your picture didn't make it through but the Curt instructions we have show two bolts that attach with existing weld nuts and then two that attach through existing holes that require fish wire to access. We get the instructions directly from Curt's site too so what we show is exactly what they list as well. I also attached an install video for this hitch for you to check out as well.

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2016 Ford Flex with Dual Exhaust
  • For your 2016 Ford Flex with dual exhaust we have the Draw Tite hitch part # 75679 that is a confirmed fit and will work well. It actually fits the versions of your vehicle that have dual exhaust and the versions that do not. The picture I attached shows the hitch installed on a version that has the dual exhaust. I also attached an install video for you to check out as well.

  • Roof Rack Recommendation for 2011 Ford Flex to Carry Yakima ShowDown Assisted Kayak Carrier
  • For your 2011 Ford Flex with a naked roof Yakima does offer a roof rack solution that fits your vehicle that will allow you to use the Yakima Showdown part # Y04081 that you referenced. For that you'd need the part numbers # Y00422, # Y53TR, and # Y00233 and you'd be set. This is a custom fit rack that gives you aero shaped bars that will work great with the Showdown.

  • Comparing TImbren Jounce-Style and Coil SumoSprings for a 2012 Ford Flex
  • I personally prefer the Timbren Kit # TFRFLX over the Coil SumoSprings # CSS-1069R for your 2012 Ford Flex basically because the Coil SumoSprings are kind of pressed into place and then secured with zip ties to help keep them where they need to be while the Timbrens are secured in place by a bolt. Both will do a great job at adding support to your suspension but in this comparison I'd go with the Timbren kit. Pro Tip - Make sure that your weight distribution (WD) system is rated properly...

  • Weight Distribution Recommendation and Information for a 2010 Ford Flex FWD 3.5L
  • Yes, I can explain what the tip up brackets are. They are the brackets that are mounted to the top of the trailer frame and that the chains, at the end of the spring bar in a weight distribution system, are attached to. The tip up brackets are lowered, the chains are attached and then the brackets are tipped up, applying pressure to the spring bars, which in turn distributes weight to the trailer and vehicle axles and reduces the tongue weight on the ball mount and trailer hitch. This weight...

  • Roof Rack and Ski Box for a 2009 Ford Flex With Vista Roof
  • For your 2009 Ford Flex, I recommend an Inno square bar kit with a Thule Pulse Alpine roof box, part # TH613. The Inno square kit will provide a solid base for your roof box, and consists of the following parts: Inno Square Crossbars, 58 inches, part # INB147 Inno Feet for Square Bars, part # INSUT Inno Custom Fit Kit, part # INK263. This rack includes locks for added security and can be removed when unlocked to preserve the styling of the first generation Ford Flex. The Thule Pulse...

  • 2 inch Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2013 Ford Flex with Dual Exhaust
  • For your 2013 Ford Flex with dual exhaust the Draw Tite hitch part # 75679 is a confirmed fit and has a 2 inch opening like what you need. It has a 4,000 lb towing capacity which is the highest towing capacity option we have. I attached an install video for this hitch for you to check out as well. For trailer wiring you'd then want the part # 118472 which is also a confirmed fit. If you wanted to do some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with...

  • Can 2016 Ford Flex be Towed On Roadmaster Tow Dolly # RM-2050-1
  • Yes, your wheel and tire size is perfectly fine to use with the Roadmaster Tow Dolly part # RM-2050-1 that you referenced. At one point Roadmaster listed this as only fitting up to 16 inch wheels but we've found that's not true currently. The vehicle in the review video I attached has much bigger wheels than that.

  • Tire Chain Recommendation for a 2012 Ford Flex with 255/45/zr20 Tires
  • When a manufacture states that you may not use tire chains on a vehicle in the manual it is for good reason. There is more than likely an important component of the vehicle too close that the chains will come into contact with and do not have the clearance for, whether it is something like the frame or strut, it is just not a good idea. If you still want to proceed with tire chains then, I have linked all the tire chains that fit your size tire. I would recommend a chain like Thule's...

  • Low-Profile Roof Rack for 2019 Ford Flex with Factory Side Rails
  • I have the perfect roof rack system for your 2019 Ford Flex. I highly recommend the Rhino-Rack Vortex StealthBar Roof Rack # JA7977 because it will provide you with the most low profile design and OEM look, raising your roof profile by just about 1-3/8 inches over the factory rails. This is also an extremely quiet, aerodynamic system that features rubberized Vortex strips on the bars that will dramatically reduce wind noise and drag. The anodized aluminum construction will resist corrosion...

  • Mounting Flange Dimensions and Weight Capacity of Curt Hitch # 13703
  • I attached a picture that should cover all of the flange dimensions you could want for the Curt multi fit hitch # 13703. You'd need 12 inches of space on the frame for the hitch to fit. The weight of the hitch is 98 lbs. If you carry a bike rack or cargo carrier you will need a stabilizer strap like part # 18050. If you use the strap this would easily carry a 100 lb carrier and generator as it has a 350 lb tongue weight capacity.

  • 7-Way and Brake Controller Recommendation for a 2012 Ford Flex
  • Since you do not have a factory trailer wiring you will need to start with a 4-way (if you do not have one). For that you would want the # 118472. From there you would need to convert the 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install the brake controller. For that you will want the Brake Controller Install Kit and 7-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. I attached installation instructions and an install video for this product as well. For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller...

  • Tow Dolly Recommendation for a 2018 Ford Flex FWD
  • There are some great options for towing your 2018 Ford Flex FWD with your Class C motorhome, but unfortunately the Roadmaster Tow Dolly # RM-2050-1 will not work for your vehicle. This tow dolly has a weight capacity of 4,250 lbs. Based on my research, your Ford Flex has a curb weight (without cargo or passengers) of about 4,440 lbs. Instead, I recommend the Demco Kar Kaddy X Tow Dolly # DM9713093. This tow dolly has a 4,800 lb weight capacity and can install easily on the rear hitch of...

  • Least Visible Trailer Hitch and Wiring for a 2012 Ford Flex Limited EcoBoost Dual Exhaust
  • Both of the trailer hitches available for your 2012 Ford Flex with dual exhaust have the same design and install in the same places on the vehicle so they will all look pretty much the same. The cross tube will be visible beneath the rear bumper but is recessed enough to not be glaring. The most popular option is the etrailer trailer hitch # e52AR but Curt hitch # C13110 will work just as well. I would go with whichever costs less. I have included links to videos showing installations...

  • Recommendation for a Hitch and 4 Bike Rack for 2014 Ford Flex
  • I recommend the Draw-Tite Class III Hitch, # 75679, for your 2014 Ford Flex. This 2 inch hitch receiver will bolt directly to your Flex's frame with no welding required. It has a tongue weight rating of 400 pounds and a maximum gross trailer weight rating of 4000 pounds. If you are still in the market for a four bicycle rack, the Swagman Original # S64400, is quite popular with our Ford Flex owners. This economical option offers the highest weight capacity at 140 pounds. If you will be...

  • Recommended Low Profile Roof Rack for 2014 Ford Flex with Factory Side Rails
  • For your 2014 Ford Flex with the raised side rails, I really like the Rhino Rack Vortex Roof Rack in Black # JA7977 or Silver # JA7958. This particular rack is going to give you that low profile, OEM/factory appearance that you are looking for. The aero-style crossbars will sit between the side rails and they will only raise the roof rack profile 1-3/8 inches above the factory rails. The arched design will also complement the curves and lines of the Ford Flex's roof. This system features...

This cooler measures 13 inches wide by 4-9/16 inches tall by 2 inches deep.

  • Roof Rack to Carry Surfboards on 2014 Ford Flex SEL Sport with Factory Rails
  • To carry Surfboards on your 2014 Ford Flex you'll first need a complete roof rack. I suggest the Thule WingBar Evo rack: 53 inch WingBars # TH711400 in silver or # TH711420 in black Evo raised rail feet # TH710401 The bars are aerodynamic to reduce wind noise. This rack also has a 165 pound capacity and lifetime warranty. Then to carry the boards the Thule # TH811XT will carry up to two boards and includes all the necessary tie-downs.

  • Cargo Carrier Solution that Gives Most Amount of Hitch Rise
  • We don't have any great hitch adapter solutions that you could use to add additional rise to the hitch setup you are using to carry your hitch mounted cargo carrier. Doing so adds quite a bit of movement to the hitch setup and cuts the capacity of the hitch by 50 percent. So your best option is to go with a cargo carrier that has a higher rise built into the shank. If you were looking for a traditional kind of cargo carrier then I recommend going with the Rola Dart Cargo Carrier # 59550...
