Tire Chain Recommendation for a 2012 Ford Flex with 255/45/zr20 Tires
Question:
I just need a set of cables for this car in case I go to the snow my owners manual says dont use either cable or chains ,is that correct?or do you have a pair that will work

When a manufacture states that you may not use tire chains on a vehicle in the manual it is for good reason. There is more than likely an important component of the vehicle too close that the chains will come into contact with and do not have the clearance for, whether it is something like the frame or strut, it is just not a good idea.
If you still want to proceed with tire chains then, I have linked all the tire chains that fit your size tire. I would recommend a chain like Thule's K-Summit # TH02230K66, because this chain sits on only the tire treads, leaving alloy wheels and the inside of the tire wall untouched.
I have attached a video of them on a similar vehicle so that you can get an idea of how they are installed.
