It is a fit for 2005 to 2017 models so it is likely there is either grime in the weldnuts or powder coat overspray that is in the threads that needs to be cleaned up. I don't think the bolts are too big... which should be M12-1.75 x 40mm.

While there is nothing mentioned about the Daytime Running lights under the dingy towing section, there was information on how to turn them off under the Daytime Running Lights (DRL) section. Since the issue you described is happening both with a trailer and with your magnetic tow lights I do think the culprit is a blown fuse or bad relay on the vehicle. If you do not have the factory tow package on your 2018 Chevrolet Equinox LT then the correct trailer wiring harness for you is the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 118750, not the Curt Wiring Harness part # C94FR. It sounds like you have a bad ground on the left stop/turn circuit (probably the trailer light) and you're using LEDs on your trailer when your vehicle is only able to send power back for incandescent lights.
If you locate the ground and/or bad connection and fix it then you should just need to use load resistors like part # DI34ZR which essentially amplifies the signal from the LED lights so your vehicle can read the lights better and know to shut off power to those circuits completely.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. I have a couple of options for you but we will address the fuse issue first. You need the Roadmaster FuseMaster Fuse Bypass - 13" - 20-Amp Mini-Fuse item # RM76511. This will allow you to replace your Equinox's mini-fuse and lets you prep for towing by simply flipping a switch. This will remove the hassle of pulling a fuse out to flat-tow.

According to my research, the 2016 Chevrolet Equinox did not come with a factory 7-way so if you have one then it is most likely an aftermarket 7-way and the fuse or rather circuit breaker may not even be ran. I would first use a circuit tester, like part # PTW2993, and check the trailer connector on the back of your Equinox. Make sure you are getting voltage at each pin when that function is activated. The pin that the green wire attaches to should show current when the right turn signal is activated. The pin for the yellow wire should show voltage when the left turn is activated. The problem you are having sounds like it could be an overload or a ground problem. The first thing to do is test the vehicle side 4-Way without the trailer connected by using a circuit tester such as # PTW2993.

That is quite the increase in air pressure! Are you by chance inflating the bags when it is cold out and then checking them in the heat of the day after the bags would have warmed up from the weather and friction from use?

When relays buzz it usually means there is high amperage, which means that there is something not making a good contact. It could be caused by one of the wires that is cracked, so I'd recommend checking that.

It is highly uncommon the Diodes to go bad, but we should be able to easily test this to determine the cause of the issue. The best thing to do will be to get a wire probe like part # PTW2993 and test the wires going in to, and out of the diode. If we have power going in, but not coming out, then the Diode is the issue.
