The Stealth # SH47FR 2 inch hitch you ordered has a 350 lb tongue weight capacity that ITSELF would be able to handle the weight of the rack and bikes, but you'll want to make sure that the the vehicle itself can handle that. I was unable to find any information in the online copy of the owner's manual regarding the towing capacity, so I'd advise you to touch base with your Volvo dealer to determine the vehicle's tongue weight capacity, which represents the maximum amount of downward force... view full answer...

We can help you out here, though you definitely won't want to drill any holes in the shanks of a cargo carrier as that can compromise the integrity of the carrier. I was able to find one hitch cargo carrier that will work for your Volvo, from Swagman:
- Swagman Expanse Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches # S68FR
According to Swagman's dimensions, this cargo carrier measures exactly 2-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the end of its shank, so it will just be able to fit in your... view full answer...

To install a 7-Way harness on your 2023 Volvo XC90, you will need two separate wiring harnesses because they don't make just one that'll do the job.
The first harness you'll need is the Curt Vehicle Wiring Harness item # C59236. This is a universal harness that has to be spliced into existing wiring. There is no custom fit option. It will provide you with a 4-flat connector.
The second harness you will need is the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller item # ETBC7. The... view full answer...

I went and measured the hinge and mounting plate for the SportRack Replacement Hardware Kit # SR05587 and made a diagram for you to check out. As there were a few measurements listed on it, it seemed the better way to get them to you than typing them out. Pictures make it much more clear.
If this ends up not being an exact fit for your box, you best option will be to modify how said box mounts to your roof rack. Not having a brand or model will make it rather difficult to locate exact... view full answer...
The Thule Hullavator item # TH898 requires somewhere between 4" - 8" of additional overhang past a roof racks mounting legs for the lift assist function to work properly without damaging the side of your Volvo. With this in mind, I recommend the roof rack by Thule for your 2020 Volvo XC40 and it includes the following parts:
Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars - Aluminum - Black 60" Long - Qty 2 item # TH711520 or Silver item # TH711500

From the top of the hitch opening of the Curt Hitch part # C12318 will measure 11-1/2 inches when installed on a similar VOlvo S60 like in the video I attached.
This hitch is going to basically tuck right under the rear fascia of your vehicle so if you are looking for ground clearance you would need to measure from the bottom of your rear bumper down to the ground and then subtract right at 2 inches. view full answer...
Presumably, the model number of the actuator will be stamped into the metal of the casing. This can wear down and/or get painted over after many years of service. If you cannot locate the make and model on your actuator, you may be able to go by the measurements.
I went out to the warehouse and measured replacement shock # DS12426. The overall diameter is 1.662 inches (about 1-11/16 inches). The larger eye has an inner diameter of 0.89 inches (about 7/8 inches). The smaller eye has an... view full answer...
We haven't made one because we haven't had a 2023 Volvo XC90 in the shop. The Curt Trailer Hitch item # C13233 is the same hitch as the etrailer item # e53KR it just has a different finish. I have linked an installation video we did awhile back on it being installed on a earlier model XC90. I have also attached the installation instructions for both hitches below.
If you are planning on towing you will also need a wiring harness item # C59236 and a ball mount kit item # C45534. view full answer...
Yes, we do. To add a 2" hitch to your 2012 Volvo XC70, I recommend the etrailer Hitch item # e77KR. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Volvo with included hardware. This is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver. It has a 350 lbs maximum tongue weight so you will have plenty of capacity for a bike rack.
I really like this hitch because the crosstube mounts behind the rear bumper. This not only looks better but it also helps with ground clearance.

I do have some measurements using Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 36297. On a vehicle we installed hitch # 36297 on, the hitch measured 11 inches from the ground to the top of the receiver. Keep in mind this is not the same model vehicle and there are bound to be differences in ride height so these measurements should serve as a general guide.
Then, when using the correct ball mount, # 36061, as indicated by the hitch manufacturer in the proper rise position, add another 3-1/8 inches to that... view full answer...
We have a converter # 118158 laying around so I measured it. The box measures 2-15/16 inches by 2-7/16 inches by 1 inch. You could use a small battery box such as # TK2051 to better protect the converter from the elements. The converter will generate some heat so the box you put it in will need to be larger than the converter and it will have to have some ventilation. The battery box is the perfect combination of size and ventilation. view full answer...
The Stealth Hitches Hidden Rack Receiver # SH27FR for your 20121 Volvo XC90 is rated for up to 600lbs of tongue weight. With a 24x60 Reese Cargo Carrier # 63153 rated for up to 500lbs that is the most you will be able to load on the carrier. This particular carrier weighs 61lbs giving you a weight of 561lbs on the receiver which is under its 600lb capacity. Yes, there is one hitch available for the 2022 Volvo XC40 Recharge. It is the Draw-Tite item # 76245. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Volvo with included hardware. This is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver.
I have linked an installation video below to help you get it set up. view full answer...
The receiver included with the Stealth # SH87FR hitch for the 2019 Volvo XC60 isn't meant for towing, it's meant for hitch mounted accessories like bike racks or cargo carriers. In order to tow, you'll need the # SH87FRT hitch kit which includes the ball mount that's meant for towing which provides a 2 inch rise which will place the top of the trailer ball around 18 inches which wouldn't be sufficient to tow your trailer so it's level. Unfortunately, this height isn't adjustable.
