Every hitch available for your 2020 Honda CR-V hybrid requires trimming a small rectangle out of the lower fascia. I have attached a picture below that I took directly from the instructions for the etrailer Hitch item # e98848. This will show you exactly what needs to be trimmed. I have also linked a video we did on a 2020 that will show you all of the installation steps.

The EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver you'd looked at, part # 306-X7322 is a confirmed fit for fit for your 2018 Honda HR-V and has a 2000 lb towing/300 lb tongue weight (maximum amount of downward force that can be applied to hitch) capacity. So, the hitch itself can handle a trailer and cargo weighing up to 2000 lbs.
The US version of the owner's manual states that the vehicle shouldn't be used to tow a trailer, but I've seen online references to an 800KG towing capacity (1760 lbs)... view full answer...
To add a hitch to your 2003 Honda Pilot EX, I recommend the etrailer Hitch item # e98851. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Honda with included hardware. It is compatible with a full size spare tire. This is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver so it will have plenty of capacity to handle 250 lbs of bikes and rack.
For a compatible wiring harness you will want the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector item # C55336. This custom-fit T-connector... view full answer...

The front to back bolt hole spacing on the Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver, part # 41930, is approximately 18-1/4 inches from the front hole to the center hole and around 20-3/4 inches from the front hole to rear hole.
This hitch is confirmed to fit your 2002 Chevrolet Suburban. It's a custom designed product specifically for the 2001 to 2006 Suburban, 2006 to 2006 GMC Yukon XL, and the 2000 New Body Suburban that has amber turn signals. view full answer...
I walked out to our warehouse and pulled the Redline A-Frame Trailer Coupler # CA5100B. At the widest point inside the coupler measured approximately 9-1/4 inches, the narrowest approximately 2 inches and 8 inches between those points. Check out the picture that I have attached that I added dimensions to for you to view.
This coupler is a weld-on application for A-frame trailers, works with 2 inch hitch balls and has a 5,000 lb capacity.

When using a hitch like the Draw-Tite # 75742 you are always limited by the lowest rated component in the setup; if the vehicle's tongue weight rating is less than the rating of the hitch then you will be limited by the vehicle's rating. From what I was able to determine from my research it looks like the 2015 CR-V only has a towing capacity of 1500-lbs and a tongue weight capacity of 150-lbs, so you will be limited to that 150-lbs and not the tongue weight rating of the hitch.

The Curt Class 1 Trailer Hitch, item # C11204, has a towing capacity of 2,000 pounds and a tongue weight rating of 200 pounds. You will need to check your vehicle ratings to be sure of the capacity it has. Your vehicle towing... view full answer...

A weight distribution system is a device that is installed on a trailer and uses leverage to transfer the weight of the load across the entire towing setup. It's in addition to a trailer hitch and is optional for towing, although sometimes highly recommended. The trailer hitch receivers designed for your 2007 Honda CR-V are not rated with a weight distribution system, therefore you don't have the option of using one. But you can still tow a trailer.

Your thinking is spot-on so I would not say you are overthinking at all. Except you do not have to worry about the 50% reduction unless you use an extender.
The tongue weight capacity of a hitch is the vertical load capacity that is associated with a trailer's tongue or a cargo carrier like the # C18100 that you referenced.
So with a hitch that has a 350 lb tongue weight capacity you'd be able to carry a total of 350 lbs at the hitch between the weight of the carrier and cargo. So this... view full answer...
When the weight of the shipping box is subtracted, the Surco # 52017 Cargo Carrier weighs 30 lbs. Since the Class I receiver on your 2009 Accord has a 200 lb tongue weight capacity, the 30 lbs would be deducted from the tongue weight capacity of the hitch. This would leave a capacity for the carrier of 170 lbs, which is still pretty respectable.

We do have the Class II Draw-Tite # 36597 trailer hitch for your 2018 Honda CR-V. This is essentially the same trailer hitch as the Draw-Tite # 76128 except that it has a 1-1/4" receiver instead of a 2" receiver.
I actually recommend going with the 2" receiver for your CR-V because you will actually be able to use a wider variety of accessories with the larger receiver. If you currently have an accessory that fits a 1-1/4" receiver then I also recommend using a reducer like part # HT02... view full answer...

It sounds like you have a total load of 325 lbs which is within the hitch capacity of a hitch like # e98855 on your 2020 Honda Odyssey.
Tongue weight is the relevant capacity when it comes to bike racks because they put a vertical load on the hitch. When you add things further and further away from your hitch, then leverage becomes a factor. In your case, with a class 3 hitch like # e98855 and a bike rack like # HR1400Z, you're fine.
A good bike rack is designed to not just support... view full answer...
