Actual Weight Carrying Capacity of Surco # C18110 Cargo Carrier Installed in Class I Receiver
Question:
I have the Hidden Hitch Class I Reciever Hitch on my 2009 Honda Accord part #60236. The Maximum tongue weight calls for 200 lbs How much does this Cargo Carrier weight? I assume Id have to minus the weight of part # C18110 by the original 200 weight limit on the trailer hitch to see how much weight Id actually be able to carry on the carrier. Am I right? I also bought The Rola Expandable Cargo Bag, 9.5 to 11.5 cubic feet Part #59102. But I'm starting to think I wont have any use for it due to weight restrictions I may not be able to fill it up? Thanks for the help!

When the weight of the shipping box is subtracted, the Surco # 52017 Cargo Carrier weighs 30 lbs. Since the Class I receiver on your 2009 Accord has a 200 lb tongue weight capacity, the 30 lbs would be deducted from the tongue weight capacity of the hitch. This would leave a capacity for the carrier of 170 lbs, which is still pretty respectable.
You were right on the money.
