The 2006 Tundra could have been equipped with the 'Factory' hitch two different ways. If it was a dealer installed option, it would simply bolt to the frame members but if it arrived from the factory with the hitch, the hitch is tied into the bumper mounting brackets and the bumper would need to be replaced to remove the existing hitch.
