I checked with Bestop and they list the install of the Trektop NX Soft Top # B5682035 as a 2 out of 4 as "moderately easy" and state that it would take about 2 hours to install. view full answer...
The Roadmaster Even Brake Portable Supplemental Braking System part # RM-9400 comes with the Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles part # RM-88400 so you won't have to purchase this separately. That said, the relay doesn't need to be installed on all vehicles. The 2000 Jeep TJ however is one that requires it.
In regards to the tail light wiring, the Tow Ready Tail Light Isolating Diode System part # TR118821 is a great option that works on any vehicle. view full answer...
I went ahead and confirmed with MORryde that the plastic trim piece shown in your provided photo is the standard trim molding on your 2006 Jeep X Model. With the Fender Mounted Jerry Can Holder for Jeep Wrangler TJ and YJ # MR69MR, you won't have a problem with installing the Jerry Can Holder with the plastic rim piece left on your vehicle. view full answer...
Absolutely!
We actually recommend doing this exact install a lot of the time. Using a 6-way, like part # PK12720 for an example, at the vehicle's front allows you to install additional wiring for a braking system or charge line but doing it this way makes it an easier install because the Hopkins # HM56202 is the easiest to install harness for your 2004 Jeep. view full answer...
The tow hook on your 2002 Jeep TJ can't be able to reinstalled with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13408. These use the same mounting locations and the hardware is only able to accommodate one of them.
Attached is a video showing us perform the installation on a 2005 Wrangler where it has the tow hook. view full answer...
The Roadmaster BrakeMaster Braking System with BrakeAway for RVs with Hydraulic Brakes # RM-9060 does not require or benefit from vacuum assist. You could actually argue that it is more of a hindrance. That is because the vacuum assist requires that the vacuum be released for installation and every time the tow vehicle is started after that you will need to release the vacuum before towing.
I have included the instruction manual for the BrakeMaster 9060, it goes over the vacuum information... view full answer...
From what I was able to find in the owner's manual of the 2000 Jeep TJ Wrangler, you're not supposed to tow the vehicle on a tow dolly that leaves only 2 wheels on the ground (I do believe it's because of the transfer case). You can either flat tow the vehicle or tow it on a trailer/dolly that keeps all 4 wheels off the ground. In order to flat tow your TJ you'll need base plates, a tow bar, tow bar wiring, safety cables, supplemental braking and in most cases, a high/low adapter. I've... view full answer...
The Progressive Dynamics Replacement Section for AC/DC Power Distribution Panel # PD4645V will only charge the batteries with shore power. You won't be able to charge your house battery from the engine. This is compatible with Parallax/Magnetek model 6345, WFCO model 8945, and Parallax models 7345 and 8345. The reason you're only getting 12V is because that is the voltage from your alternator. view full answer...
I understand it can seem confusing but there is an easy solution. Very Easy! If you use the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118356 it will simply plug into the plugs beside each tail light. It will then send the signal to the 4 way trailer connector that you will hook the trailer to.
The reason it works is because your Jeep is telling the wiring what to do. When you are stopped brakes pressed and turning left the blinker still blinks it... view full answer...
Front mounted hitch # 31408 should not interfere with the rubber bumper blocks on your 1999 Jeep TJ, as the hitch is installing directly to pre-existing holes in the vehicle frame. The hitch also sits above the bumper and frame rails for better clearance.
You can, however, check to make sure that the bumper blocks are out of the way and are not going interfere with the installation. The hitch mounting holes are going to be in line with the frame rails on either side, and the hitch sits... view full answer...
I took a look at the Roadmaster BrakeMaster Braking System with BrakeAway part # RM-9060 and in regards to mounting the breakaway cylinder, the following instructions are given in the manual.
"Choose a location for the air reservoir. The air reservoir is mounted in the towed vehicle, most
often in the engine compartment, but it may be attached anywhere an air line can be routed from the top of the air reservoir to the front of the vehicle, and where the drain valve, at the bottom of... view full answer...
Yes, if you were to run the Derale Direct-Mount Remote Cooler Kit # D20561 as a standalone cooler by bypassing the factory cooler of your 1999 Jeep Wrangler you'd have more than adequate cooling capacity for the transmission fluid. This cooler is much more efficient than the one you have now and even has a fan built into it so you'll get great transmission fluid cooling even when the vehicle is moving slowly. view full answer...
The Detail K2 Avalanche Elite Snowplow part # K2AVAL8219ELT has a 82" wide x 19" tall which is raised and lower via an electric motor which is attached to a set of chain links. We've got what you're looking for. The Curt Front Mount Hitch Receiver, part # C31028 mounts to the undersides of the frame members at the front of your Jeep so that the receiver opening is located under the front bumper, as you can see in the photo I've provided.
If you need the front receiver to provide an attachment point for something fairly heavy like a snow plow, I'd also recommend the Timbren # TJFTJ springs which fit 4x4 models only. The Timbrens prevent the front end from sagging... view full answer...
It appears that on a 2005 Jeep Wrangler TJ the brake switch wire used to connect a brake controller is white/tan. I do recommend verifying that it is the correct wire on your 2005 Jeep Wrangler LJ Rubicon using a Test Light # PTW2993. If that wire provides power when the brake pedal is pressed and no power when not pressing on the brake pedal then you have the correct wire to wire in your Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller # RED44FR. view full answer...
The Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch, # 65048, will mount on the top of the bumper on your 2006 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited TJ.
