It certainly does sound like a short on the trailer that caused some problems, but I would not rule out the possibility that it is just coincidence and that there is an issue with all the vehicles in some way, shape, or form. If the trailer draws more that 2.1 amps per side for turn/brake lights then that would cause the converter to blow.
On the trailer, make sure its connector is free of corrosion. Then you will want to trace the wiring leading back from the 4-Way to determine if there... view full answer...
To switch from electric drum brakes to hydraulic disc brakes on your 2007 Coachmen Chaparral 5th wheel you're going to need a disc brake assembly, brake line kit, electric over hydraulic actuator, breakaway kit, and brake controller.
From my research it looks like you should have a 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern which would mean you can use the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit - 12" Hub/Rotor - 6 on 5-1/2 - Dacromet/KodaGuard - 5,200 to 6,000lbs # K2HR526DKG you were looking at. This kit is for one axle... view full answer...
The wiring harness you will need to access to install the Pop & Lock Custom Tailgate Lock part # PAL8200 on your 2009 Ford Ranger will be under the passenger's side kick panel. Once the kick panel is removed you will need to test each of the wires with a circuit tester like part # ALL640595 in order to determine the correct functions.
I spoke to my contact at Pop & Lock and they informed me that the green wire on the Pop & Lock is for the lock function which could be either a gray/brown... view full answer...
There is not a specific range that that is limiting in regards to the distance between the ICX transmitter and monitor for the Roadmaster Even Brake Portable Supplemental Braking System # RM-9400, and will absolutely work on a 40 foot motorhome without issue.

The MaxxAir MaxxFan # MA00A04401K that you asked about has a maximum draw of 4-1/4 amps when it is set at it's highest setting. Since this is a 4 speed fan it will decrease about 25 percent for each setting that is one step lower. This means that it will draw about 1 amp per setting. My contact at MaxxAir confirmed this. view full answer...

The Kat's Heaters Lower Radiator Hose Heater part # KH16600 has a shutoff point of 270 degrees Fahrenheit. However, that does not mean it will heat the coolant until this temperature is reached every time. It's just a failsafe to prevent damage from overheating if something were to occur. The heater is also at a single location so it won't send this same temperature throughout the entire system. The actual temperature the heater will warm the coolant to can vary by application.

We do have a video of a brake controller being installed in a 2002 Ford Ranger but it's not the Hayes G2 Brake Boss as that part is no longer available. With that being said since the truck is the same generation as your 2004 and brake controllers are universal as far as the installation goes the process is basically the same.
The video also uses our installation kit, part # ETBC7, which you'll need if your Ranger doesn't have a 7-way connector. The kit installs into an existing 4-way... view full answer...
Thank you so much for reaching out to us about your question. As far as installing brake controller wiring (7-way harness) to your existing 4-way connector on your 2010 Ford Ranger, the only way to prep your Ranger for a brake controller is by using the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat # ETBC7. This will prep your Ranger with the required wiring by splicing the wires to your current setup. Since this harness comes with a 7-way plug, you will... view full answer...

The bearings for your trailer hub don't need to be removed/replaced when replacing the blown grease seal. As you mentioned you can simply tap in the new seal from the back of the hub once it's taken off the spindle. With that being said it's not a bad idea to go ahead and remove and inspect the bearings while you're in there to make sure there aren't any signs that anything needs to be replaced.

I do have some electric trailer brake controller options for you but there are no connectors under the dash of this vehicle for a brake controller to plug into. That said, there are blunt cut wires with all the functions needed to hook up an electric trailer brake controller. The wires can be hooked up directly to a controller like the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite... view full answer...
