To install a new replacement mirror, part # KS61046F on your 2001 Ranger, there are just a few simple steps to follow.

First you need to remove the 2 screws holding the handle assembly in place. Then just pull it out. If you have power locks or windows you need to ne careful you do not pull something loose. Then you remove one screw that was behind the door handle assy holding one side of the door panel in place. The other screw that needs to be removed is at the lower part of the door toward the rear. Once those screws have been removed you can lift the door panel to remove it.

There are three nuts that are holding the mirror in place. Just remove those and disconnect the power connector from the mirror. Install the new mirror and re-install the three screws and reconnect the connector. Before putting everything back you may want to check the function of the mirror to make sure it is working.

Reverse the steps for the door panel removal to reinstall. Then re-attach the door handle and you are all done.
