How does the RED4FR Proportional Brake Controller Connect to a 2011 Ford Ranger?

Question:

2011 Ford Ranger 4x4. I have always used BrakeSmart Brake controller, 2001 7.3 Super Duty which functions off of the trucks master cylinder, the more pressure from the break peddle equals more trailer breaks and the same with backing up, no magnet bite so how does the RED4FR work? Im pulling out my Tuson Break Controller because it has caused to many problems connecting into the trucks data port and everything I have tried has caused problems with Countys IM testing etc.. Whats so great? How does the RED4 now how to connect to the truck without wiring?

The Redarc Tow-Pro Elite proportional trailer brake controller item # RED44FR is connected directly to your 2011 Ford Ranger 4x4 through a wiring harness. This harness comes with the brake controller and connects behind the dash by wiring into your truck. The Redarc brake controller activates trailer brakes in proportion to your vehicle's braking action by automatically adjusting your trailer's braking based on deceleration of your Ranger. The brakes also activate immediately which eliminates pausing like with time-delayed brake controllers. This brake controller has one of the most subtle footprints for vehicle installed controllers. The main unit installs out of sight and the control knob mounts in the dash or another easily accessible area. I have linked an installation and review video.
