The wiring harness you will need to access to install the Pop & Lock Custom Tailgate Lock part # PAL8200 on your 2009 Ford Ranger will be under the passenger's side kick panel. Once the kick panel is removed you will need to test each of the wires with a circuit tester like part # ALL640595 in order to determine the correct functions.
I spoke to my contact at Pop & Lock and they informed me that the green wire on the Pop & Lock is for the lock function which could be either a gray/brown or a pink/orange wire on your vehicle and the blue wire on the Pop & Lock is for the unlock function which could be either a gray/violet or a pink/black wire on your vehicle.
Depending on the month your truck was manufactured, it could have either came equipped with the 2008 harness or the 2009 harness therefore the only exact way to determine the correct wires is with a circuit tester.
