You can convert surge brakes to an electric over hydraulic braking system. To do this, you will need an electric over hydraulic actuator and a brake controller.
For an electric over hydraulic actuator, I recommend looking at the Carlisle HydraStar units. If your trailer has drum brakes, you will want part # HBA-10. If your trailer has disc brakes, then you will want part # HBA16. I have also attached a link to all of our electric over hydraulic actuators for you to check out your options.

Although the 19x60 Curt Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Aluminum # C18100 does not have mounting holes specifically for adding reflectors, there is a simple way to add them to this carrier. I recommend using 7" Long White/ 11" Long Red Conspicuity Reflective Tape # RE418T or Optronics Trailer Reflector # RE10RB, which will easily stick on the carrier's sides.
Keep in mind you will also need the Pin and Clip # PC3 or Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # 63232 to secure this carrier... view full answer...
You will definitely want to install the included air hose kit with the Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs # F4118, as there likely won't be enough room to add air directly to the fittings on the bags, especially if the vehicle is loaded with any kind of cargo.
The kit does come with nylon ties to secure the tubing at various points under the vehicle to help bring up any slack. This will prevent them from getting caught on anything or being torn off by snow like what you mentioned.... view full answer...
The Curt Class III trailer hitch for your Pathfinder, part # C13126 would utilize nuts that are welded up into the frame member. The conical toothed washers used in the installation do a good job of maintaining the torque applied to the bolt during installation, so threadlocker like # LT37420 isn't necessary although using it won't cause any harm.
If you decide to use threadlocker, and you decide at some point in the future to remove the hitch you'll want to remember to apply heat to... view full answer...
The most common issue we see with customers having trouble finding the brake controller port on any particular vehicle is that they limit the search area down too far. The port on your 2017 Nissan Pathfinder could be anywhere under the driver dash. It could be tapped to another harness and there could be a plug in the end you need to remove first. Therefore, you just need to continue your search as it just takes time and patience.
I have attached an install video that shows the plug's... view full answer...
A 7-way such as the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness - 7-Way Trailer Connector # 118273 that fits your 2018 Nissan Pathfinder will provide a maintenance charge to your trailer battery while you are driving, though it won't charge the battery from a depleted state.
To charge your trailer's battery while you were driving, what you would need depends on the amount of amp hours your battery is rated for, either Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger # RED96FR if your battery is rated for less... view full answer...
I spoke with Derale about the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit part # D15950 and they stated that the unit does not require a separate fuse. The circuit protection will come from the switched ignition source so no additional fuses will be needed. I personally would try to find a 20 amp rated switched ignition source for this. view full answer...
The MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan and Thermostat # MA00-06200K will install in the exact same cutout as the stock vent. You will simply need some sealant and screws. Many will choose to use the Roof Vent Installation Kit - Sealant, Butyl Tape, Screws - White # 344270KITW. You don't absolutely need both butyl tape and sealant, so many will use the LaSalle Bristol XTRM Universal Self-Leveling Sealant - White - Qty 1 # 34427034145-1 or # 0160297 and then the Zinc Sheet Metal Screw... view full answer...
For wiring harness # 118670 the extra 2 blue relays will plug into the relay box located under the hood on your 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. This box is located near the back of the engine compartment on the passenger's side of the vehicle. There should be a legend showing the functions of each location in the box. view full answer...
I know it seems like there are extra steps to take for installing the T-One # 118273 on your 2019 Nissan Pathfinder but it all just boils down to this; without those relays installed the T-One won't receive any power. Basically these act as fuses so without a fuse the circuit is dead. I'm not sure why Nissan decided to locate the plug in the rear hatch area but that's where it sits on your Pathfinder. If you had the factory tow package you'd be able to go to that same location and see a... view full answer...
The Curt Discovery Trailer Brake Controller, # C84VV, should show only the decimal point dot when the controller is activated and a trailer is not connected. If it shows the dot all the time, the red wire is connected to the wrong side of the stop light switch or the wrong switch completely like the cruise control.
If you have only the decimal point when the trailer is connected, the usual cause is that the brake controller does not sense the trailer brakes. This could be due to corrosion... view full answer...
If your Nissan Pathfinder LE does not have a factory 7-Way connector on at the rear of the vehicle then your vehicle was not equipped with the factory tow package. I do not have a picture of the Pathfinder with a factory connector available to send you.
To install a brake controller and 7-Way RV plug on your Pathfinder you will need a brake controller like the P2, item # 90885, that your referred to, a 4-Way connector item # 118263, and a Brake Controller 7 & 4 Way Installation Kit, item... view full answer...
The correct Coil SumoSprings that fits your 2018 Nissan Pathfinder is the part # CSS-1195R. The other part number is basically just slightly different dimensions so it won't fit your vehicle well at all. view full answer...
Thank you for your purchase of TowReady wiring harness # 118266.
My contact at TowReady has heard of similar issues arising where Nissan changed the connectors used on certain Pathfinder and Frontier vehicles. The part you ordered is the correct item for a 4-pole-equipped truck like yours and it is designed for your vehicle. The different connectors supplied by Nissan unfortunately are the issue.
I suggest you contact your local dealership to see if they can offer you a 7-way wiring harness... view full answer...
Correct, the fascia trimming is under the bumper on your 2023 Nissan Pathfinder so it won't be noticeable at all for the installation of the Curt hitch that fits your vehicle. The correct part number for that hitch is the following:
- Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C46DR
I have added a cut out showing the exact trimming needed on your '23 Pathfinder when installing the # C46DR, and as you can see it's a small 4-1/4" x 2-1/2" section, which you can easily trim with a utility knife. view full answer...
It sounds like the existing weldnut on your factory hitch has gotten corroded over time and that is why the 8 mm bolt will not thread into it. This is a very common problem on vehicles that have seen a couple winters or more.
I attached the video you referenced and at the 1:47 mark of it our installer shows how to install the bracket.
I also attached a couple articles on cleaning weldnuts for you to check out as well. view full answer...
I have a couple of recommendations for you. The first thing I would suggest is to test your 4-way wiring harness where it plugs into your truck wiring with a circuit tester, part # PTW2993, at the connection and not at the 4-way flat. If you are getting power before the wiring harness, your problem is with the wiring harness itself.
My next recommendation is to make sure your 4-way flat is connected to a power source. This wiring harness should already be plugged into a jumper AND grounded.... view full answer...
The AutoAttach pin on the Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack # TH903202 is essentially just a guide for ensuring that the shank of the rack is far enough into the hitch receiver that the rack is secured.
Once the AutoAttach system is lined up with the hitch pin hole and it snaps in place then you use the anti-rattle knob to expand the shank to take all of the wobble out of the rack. The anti-rattle knob can then be locked which prevents the bike rack from being removed even if that AutoAttach... view full answer...
Yes, you can damage the feet on the Malone AirFlow2 Roof Rack part # MPG216 while installing it on your 2016 Nissan Pathfinder. I called my contact at Malone and they stated that their is not a specific increment or torque spec that will need to be applied to the mounting feet but rather to use your best judgment. As long as there is not any movement in the bars/feet once they are tight then you should be fine. If you started to see any of the plastic bend or flex then you know you have... view full answer...
