  • Will Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch 75679 Fit a 2013 Ford Flex SEL with Dual Exhaust
  • I checked and double checked and Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 75679 is listed as a fit for all models of the 2013 Ford Flex, including single exhaust, dual exhaust, and EcoBoost models. The reason you only see single exhaust models in our pictures is just because we have not had one come it with dual exhaust to have the hitch installed. I have linked the instructions and a video showing installation for you. If you plan on doing some towing I also recommend etrailer ball mount kit # 989900....

  • How To Add Brakes to a Trailer with Lippert 3,500 Axle
  • Yes, the Dexter Electric Trailer Brake Kit part # 23-26-27 or part # 23-468-469 for self-adjusting will work great on a Lippert 3,500 lb axle. In addition to the brakes you'll also need hubs/drum for which I recommend the Dexter Trailer Hub & Drum Assembly part # 84546UC3-EZ. Finally, I do recommend using a junction box # 3375601101 and 7-Way Connector # H20046 to upgrade the wiring as well as a breakaway kit like the Hopkins Engager Push-To-Test Trailer Breakaway Kit part # 20400.

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring Recommendation for 2013 Ford Flex with Dual Exhaust
  • There are trailer hitches available for the 2013 Ford Flex with dual exhaust but they are not rated for 5,000 lbs. The trailer hitches for the Ford Flex with dual exhaust are both rated for 4,000 lbs. The hitches are designed to fit around the dual exhaust system which could be why their rating is a bit lower. It is a good idea to check the owner's manual for how much the vehicle itself is rated to tow because it may be under what either hitch is rated for. I recommend Draw-Tite part #...

  • Recommended Roof Rack for a 2013 Ford Flex
  • I have 2 different roof rack recommendations from Thule for you to checkout that will provide you with crossbars on your 2013 Ford Flex with raised side rails. The first system has 53 inches of crossbar space and includes the WingBar Evo Crossbars, part # TH711400 for Silver or part # TH711420 for Black, and the Evo Raised Rail Feet # TH710401. This option is great because of the extra crossbar space. If you would like a roof rack that looks a little more like an OEM product then I recommend...

  • Can a Weight Distribution System Be Installed on a Trailer with a Side Mounted Trailer Jack
  • That would depend on where the jack was located on the frame of the trailer. If it was installed between the coupler ball hole and 30 inches back from there it is going to interfere with the weight distribution system. If the jack can be moved back behind the spring bar brackets that would allow the WD system to install. Or if you could install the jack on the inside of the frame channels that would be an option as well.

  • Will the RockRack Adjustable XL Carrier Work without Crossbars on a 2013 Ford Flex?
  • I have an answer for you. Unfortunately, the Lockrack Adjustable XL Watersport Carrier - Canoe, Kayak, or 2 SUPs - Side Loading - Universal Mount # LR54FR does require a roof rack system with cross bars. For a roof rack system recommendation, the suggestions depend on whether your 2013 Ford Flex has a bare roof or factory raised rails. If your vehicle has a bare roof, I recommend the following parts: - Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars - Aluminum - Black - 59" Long - Qty 2 # RRVA150B-2 -...

  • Will The etrailer Cargo Bag # 988501 On A Cargo Carrier Interfere With Exhaust On A 2010 Ford Flex
  • The Tow Ready 24x60 Railed Cargo Carrier, part # 63153, has an angled shank which will raise the carrier 2-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch receiver opening. This distance will help the cargo carrier clear the area where the exhaust gases would exit from the tailpipes. You can measure up 2-1/2 inches from the center of your hitch receiver on your 2010 Ford Flex and see where the cargo carrier would be located on your vehicle in relation to the tailpipes. I am including a picture...

  • Cross Bars that Run Side to Side for 2010 Ford Flex with Factory Side Rails that Run Front to Back
  • The 58 inch bars are required because the included Crossroad adapters in the Thule Custom Fit Roof Rack 45058, have been discontinued. They extended out a little beyond the factory rails on your 2010 Ford Flex. They require that extra few inches in order to fit properly. The 50 inch bars would be too short for the width of your rails. As an alternative, I recommend the Evo Raised Rail Feet # TH710401, 53" WingBar Evo Crossbars # TH711420, as well as locks # TH450400. You will also need...

  • Will The Yakima HangOut 3 Trunk Mount Bike Rack Fit a 2010 Ford Flex
  • Yes, the Yakima HangOut 3 # Y02638 will fit your 2010 Ford Flex. A couple of points to consider when using a trunk mount bike rack are if you plan on carrying either womens, childrens or alternative frame bikes you may want to use the Yakima Tube Top Adapter # Y02531. By using this adapter it will keep your bike level and give it sufficient ground clearance. I have attached a brief video of this adapter for your review. Also, If you leave your bike rack unattended, either loaded or unloaded,...

  • It sounds like you are looking at the Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars - Aluminum - Silver - 53" Long - Qty 2 # TH711400, and Evo Raised Rail Feet # TH710401. The crossbars are 3-1/8" wide x 1" tall which will absolutely fit the Skybox clamps. I also recommend adding the locks # TH450400. The AeroBlade crossbars are the old Thule aero crossbars the WingBar replaced. If you have the old crossbars, they will fit the Rapid Crossroad feet and will also fit the SkyBox clamps. The Yakima SkyBox...

  • Will Yakima EXO Clear the Rear Hatch of a Ford Flex
  • The Yakima EXO Swing Away Enclosed Cargo Carrier - 2" Hitches # Y62VR, extends from the center of the hitch pin hole 4-1/4 inches to the back of the carrier. It will swing completely away from the vehicle giving full clearance so you can open your rear hatch and access your cargo area so you can load it or access it as needed. The Yakima does not come with a cargo net. You will just need to make sure that the 4-1/4 inches fill clear your bumper. Take a look at the attached video to see...

  • Available Trailer Hitch Receivers for 2010 Ford Flex
  • For your 2010 Ford Flex only the higher-capacity 2-inch Class III type hitches are offered. We have no 1-1/4-inch hitches for this vehicle from any of our suppliers. This is not a bad thing! Since you have the single exhaust version of the Flex the hitch I suggest for you is Draw-Tite # 75679 if you have the EcoBoost model. If you do not have this feature then instead you can use the Curt # 13551. Install videos for both are linked for you along with a helpful article covering hitch installation....
