Yes. There is drilling required to install the AirLift # AL57340 on your 2005 Ford Excursion, but if you're looking for an installation that doesn't require drilling then I recommend using the AirLift # AL88154. These air bags will mount using existing holes in your vehicle's frame, so they're much easier to install. I actually like these particular bags a bit more since they've got an internal jounce bumper that helps protect the bags if they're ever not quite inflated enough and provides... view full answer...
The Karrier ST175/80R13 Radial Trailer Tire, part # AM10210 is not a directional tire.
With that being said radial tires should not be rotated from side to side. They can be switched front to back, however. They have a directional belt pattern and after several miles are put on the tires they should not be rotated. view full answer...
The factory fog lights on the 2003 Ford Excursion cannot be reinstalled after installing the Draw-Tite front mount trailer hitch # 65022. You could always add aftermarket fog lights using kit # QH-84CF and mount them in a different location. view full answer...
I think I know what is going on with your Thule M.O.A.B. Roof Top Cargo Carrier # TH690. I went out and talked to one of our installers and he said he had the same problem you are describing when he had the mounting points too close to the thicker bars that run from front to back on the cargo basket. If you space the mounting brackets a little farther away from those bars the problem you are experiencing should go away.
If the mounting brackets are too close to those bars the lock covers... view full answer...
The Firestone Single Gauge HD Compressor kit part # F2097 would be a great way to monitor air pressure and inflate the bags of the Firestone kit part # F2255 that fits your 2001 Ford Excursion but you do not have to use a compressor at all if you don't want to. You could get by without a compressor at all installed on your vehicle and just inflate the bags at home if you wanted. view full answer...
To access the correct port to insert # 3035-P, you may need to remove the dash panel on the driver side under the steering column. The connector you need will be on the far right, near the center console area. I have included a link to the instructions for reference and a link to a video showing installation on a similar truck. The video will give you the best idea of where to look for the connector and what it looks like so you will know it when you see it on your truck. view full answer...
If your 2000 Ford Excursion has a factory installed 7-Way trailer connector, all you will need is the brake controller and wiring harness like you have stated. You would use # 90885 for the brake controller and # 3035-P for the wiring harness. After installing the brake controller according to the installation instructions (linked for reference) installation would be complete.
If your Excursion came with a factory 4-Way flat trailer connector, you would need an additional part, Adapter... view full answer...
The reason you can't use the stop light circuit of the trailer wiring on your motorhome is because that circuit also carries the blinker signal. You have to find a dedicated stoplight circuit and that is why the install instructions recommend you find that under the hood of the towed vehicle.
I attached an install video that shows this getting installed in a similar Ford SUV as yours. view full answer...
When trying to decide on a weight distribution system you need the total tongue weight of your towing rig. This includes a fully loaded ready to tow trailer and any cargo that will be located behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle.
When you are weighing the total tongue weight will do this without a weight distribution system installed. You will need to know the total tongue weight before you can choose your weight distribution system. I have attached an article that will show you how... view full answer...
I spoke with my contact at Tekonsha and he said the brake switch warning (see image at right) that comes with your Tekonsha and Draw-Tite brake controllers refers to hard-wiring a brake control directly to the brake light switch. The warning is due to the cruise circuit acting like the Brake light circuit, but going direct to ground with the brake released.
Since you are using a factory plug and a plug and play harness and not cutting and splicing any wiring this warning does not apply... view full answer...
The Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount # 325-GH-325 is the perfect solution for vehicle and trailer combinations that require a rise or drop. The Gen-Y adjustable ball mounts are fully compatible with weight distribution systems. view full answer...
AirLift has said that in temporary situations like raising and lowering of the vehicle on the lift, that the rear axle will be okay to stretch the bags. Once in position to work on the truck the rear axle should be supported and not hanging for an extended period of time.
I was able to find a faq from the instructions about this for you to check out, I've linked it to the page for your convenience. view full answer...
You will want to mount the controller in an accessible area like the under the dash on the driver's side. Mounting the brake controller in an accessible location on your 2002 Ford Excursion is necessary so that you will not only be able to view the display and easily access the vertical slide, but also so that if there is a situation where you need to apply the trailer brakes without pressing the truck brakes you can access the controller.

Yes, I do have an idea regarding the Out of Stroke issue you are seeing on the Lippert Ground Control 3.0 # LC675817. According to the instruction manual, the issue is likely a bent or damaged jack (or jacks), especially since you have already done the manual override.
To replace the bent or damaged jacks you will need either the Replacement Right Jack # LC344792 or Replacement Left Jack # LC305339. view full answer...
Yes, the Edge Insight CS2 Comprehensive Gauge Display part # EP84030 will read and display boost levels on your 2001 Ford Excursion with 7.3 PowerStroke engine. There won't be any additional sensors needed for this either as the device comes with everything that you need. I called my contact at Edge to confirm this for you. view full answer...
You are right that the gray port is right next to the diagnostic port under the dash on your 2002 Ford Excursion for the brake controller. I have attached a photo that shows where the brake controller port is in relation to the location of the diagnostic port.
I have also attached a helpful article for brake controller installation on Ford full-size pickups you can check out.
In some cases the port can be to the left of the steering wheel under the dash or even behind the vehicle glove box. view full answer...
The part # BBS-1103 that you referenced has been confirmed as a fit for your 2005 Ford Excursion and can only be mounted along the front doors. For a similar set that could be installed anywhere along the doors the # CARR104811-1 would be a similar set that would work great.
These are a universal style install that will require you to select the correct mounting location based on the setup of your vehicle. I would recommend you install them around the body support instead of cutting it.

If you are installing just the Firestone Ride-Rite airbags # F2255 without an on-board air compressor like the # F2158, then I would estimate that it should take about 2 hours to install the kit. This estimate is for someone with some mechanical ability, all of the proper tools and automotive experience working at home in the driveway or garage, plus having someone around to help.
A professional may take less time depending on how many similar installations they have done. Individual results... view full answer...
