I may have another option for you, but the CIPA Custom Towing Mirror - Slip On - Driver Side # CM11551 you were looking at is a custom fit part for certain model years of the Ford F-150.
While there is not a custom fit option for your 2009 Jeep Commander, a universal mirror like the CIPA Universal Fit Towing Mirrors - Clip-On - Qty 2 # CM11952-2 would be a great option as long as your mirrors are between 7" and 10" tall.
If you can tell me the dimensions of your factory mirrors I would... view full answer...
The SportRack Vista cargo box # SR7018 has mounting hardware that fits on crossbars no wider that 4 inches and with a center to center bar spread between 23-5/8 and 34 inches. You will need to measure the bars on your 2006 Jeep Commander to determine if the box will fit. I have included a link to a video review for you. view full answer...

I may have a solution for you, but since we don't sell CVT awnings there's no way for me to test whether you'll be able to get the awning connected to your Yakima HD bars. I'll also say that the Yakima Replacement Clamps # 8880737 don't actually connect to the awning, they connect directly to a bracket that would attach to an awning. So I can confirm that these clamps will work with the HD bars, so the connection with the bars isn't the issue.
To make the connection from those clamps to... view full answer...
When we installed the Curt hitch part # 13414 on a similar Jeep Commander as your 2006 model we found that from the center of the hitch pin out to the furthest point out on the rear bumper the measurement is 3-1/2 inches.
In case you were asking about the vertical distance between the hitch tube and the bumper I attached a picture to show that it fits right under that as well. view full answer...
I do have a performance tuner for your 2006 Jeep Commander with the 5.7L V8 Hemi but not from Bully Dog. I recommend using the Superchips TrailDash TD2 Performance Tuner part # SU42050.
The TrailDash is designed to increase performance, maximize fuel economy, and improve drivability. The tuner comes equipped with 3 performance and 1 towing tune. The mileage coach helps you track and improve driving habits to achieve better fuel economy. A data collection program lets you monitor vital... view full answer...
If your 2007 Jeep Commander was equipped with a factory tow package there is going to be a wiring connector on the inside of your driver side rear bumper that our part # 118381 plugs into. If you have that connector then this is the part you need for a 4-way. Use part # HM42190 for a 7-way.
If you already have a hitch and no wiring it is likely someone installed the hitch and not the wiring and it's not factory installed. If it doesn't have a hitch someone could have taken off the factory... view full answer...

The Yakima SkyBox NX 16 is a fit for the factory crossbars on your 2006 Jeep Commander. The crossbar spread will need to be between 24 and 36 inches.
I have included a link to the installation information, as well as to a roof cargo box FAQ article for you to examine.
Due to the rather tall roof of the Commander, you might also be interested in a tire step like part # HE4040. A tire step would make accessing your rooftop cargo much easier and safer. view full answer...
Your 2006 Jeep Commander with the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver Item # C31056 is not compatible to work with the Aries Grille Guard Item # AA1048. Even though both items mount in different locations the cross tube of the hitch and the upright plates on the guard are in the same location. On the guard there is also a lower cross tube that will interfere with the cross tube on the hitch. If you are wanting to be able to move a winch to the front of the vehicle I recommend going... view full answer...
To ensure that the Rhino-Rack J-Style Kayak Carrier # S512 will fit your 2006 Jeep Commander's factory crossbars, you will want to take a quick measurement. The # S512 carrier will fit crossbars up to 3-1/4 inches wide x 2-1/2 inches tall. I spoke with my contact at Rhino-Rack and confirmed that the carrier will fit crossbars up to these dimensions. As long as the factory crossbars on your Commander are no larger than 3-1/4 inches wide x 2-1/2 inches tall, the # S512 carrier will work well... view full answer...
Yes, Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 36362 as well as the 2 inch Class III version # 75338 will fit the 2007 Jeep Commander Rock Mountain Edition. We have someone here who owns one and the hitches fit it just fine.

It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip,... view full answer...
The Thule Quick Grip Mount Assembly # TH05738 does fit the 2006 Jeep Commander with either the Sport crossbars or standard crossbars from the factory. However, to use them with the Evolution cargo box you would have to make modifications to the box. And you would need to use cradle # TH8523387001 for each foot. The feet and the cradles are sold in quantities of one.
Making modifications to the cargo box can make it structurally unsound and not safe for use. I do not recommend making modifications... view full answer...
The first thing to do before you start towing is to always check the owners manual or the car dealer for the GCVWR (Gross Combined Vehicle Weight Rating) of your vehicle. The GCVWR is the maximum allowable weight capacity for your vehicle, including the vehicle, trailer and contents.
You will need to check the hitch on your vehicle to make sure it has the correct weight capacity. Also, if you can add weight distribution to your hitch, to tow your 7,000 lb. trailer. The class or weight... view full answer...
