Trailer Wiring for 2007 Jeep Commander
Question:
How do i tell if it was wired for a hitch or not?

Helpful Expert Reply:
If your 2007 Jeep Commander was equipped with a factory tow package there is going to be a wiring connector on the inside of your driver side rear bumper that our part # 118381 plugs into. If you have that connector then this is the part you need for a 4-way. Use part # HM42190 for a 7-way.
If you already have a hitch and no wiring it is likely someone installed the hitch and not the wiring and it's not factory installed. If it doesn't have a hitch someone could have taken off the factory hitch and wiring. If it's not factory, the correct hitch for your Commander is part # 75338. If you have a hitch and want a non factory 4-pole wiring harness you need part # C55414 and if you need a 7-way you can purchase the 4-pole harness and part # ETBC7.
