Will the Rhino S512 fit on the Jeep Commander Sport Utility bars? Which adaptor kit the KC-FK8 or KC-FK9?

To ensure that the Rhino-Rack J-Style Kayak Carrier # S512 will fit your 2006 Jeep Commander's factory crossbars, you will want to take a quick measurement. The # S512 carrier will fit crossbars up to 3-1/4 inches wide x 2-1/2 inches tall. I spoke with my contact at Rhino-Rack and confirmed that the carrier will fit crossbars up to these dimensions. As long as the factory crossbars on your Commander are no larger than 3-1/4 inches wide x 2-1/2 inches tall, the # S512 carrier will work well for you.

To fit the # S512 carrier to the factory crossbars on your Commander, you will not need either adapter kit you mentioned. These adapters are designed to allow the Rhino-Rack J-Style Kayak Carrier # S512 to fit aftermarket Euro square crossbars or the top channel track on some aftermarket crossbars.

I have attached a review video of this carrier for you. In the video, the # S512 is installed on a set of Thule AeroBlade Crossbars, which measure 3-1/8 inches wide x 1-1/8 inches tall.
