  • Does the Cushioning of the Convert a Ball # AMSC12 Allow Much Movement In and Out
  • Sounds like you are asking how much movement the built in cushion of the Convert a Ball # AMSC12 allows when installed. It really doesn't move much at all. There would be a little bit of movement but for the most part it would not be sliding in and out of the hitch opening at all. The reason for this is that the tongue weight of the trailer pressed hard enough vertically on the ball mount that it pins the ball mount in the hitch.

  • What Hitch do You Recommend for My 1987 Chevy Caprice Sedan?
  • While we do have a great hitch option for your 1987 Chevy Caprice, we do not have any Class III hitches that fit. With that being said, your best and only option is to use the Curt Hitch - Class II - 1-1/4" # C12009. Not only does the hitch come with 350 pounds of maximum tongue weight capacity and 3,500 pounds of maximum gross towing weight capacity, it also comes with a higher-quality gloss outer coating that provides more protection against rust and corrosion than any of our other brands....

  • Replacement Headlight Bulb Options for a 1995 Chevrolet Caprice
  • We have two types of replacement headlight bulbs for your 1995 Chevrolet Caprice, LED and halogen. LED bulbs will last longer and produce more light than a halogen bulb but the price will also reflect this. For an LED replacment, I recommend the Putco F1 Series LED Headlight Bulbs part # PF1-9004AF which produce 1,500 lumens per bulb and come with an anti-flicker harness. For a halogen replacement, I recommend the Vision X 9004 Halogen Headlight Bulbs part # VX-D9004 which produce 900 lumens...

  • Curt offers Trailer Hitch, # C12009, which was designed for the Caprice Sedan and will work with the police model. This is a Class II hitch with a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening. If you plan on doing any towing, I have included an article that covers the steps to choosing the correct ball mount for your set-up as well as a link to our ball mounts for the 1-1/4 inch hitch. To complete the towing setup, you will just need a hitch ball, # A-80 for 1-7/8 inch or # A-82 for 2 inch, and Pin and...

  • Is There a Class III Hitch for a 1994 Chevy Caprice
  • I do have an option for you but there is only one trailer hitch option for a 1994 Chevrolet Caprice and that's the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C12009 which is a class II. It however can still be used for towing up to 3,500 lbs but there would be no options for weight distribution. I do understand you want to use a class III hitch and weight distribution system but that won't be an option.

  • Comparing Trailer Wiring Harnesses for a 1996 Chevrolet Caprice Sedan
  • The trailer wiring harnesses for your 1996 Chevy Caprice sedan, # C55347 from Curt and # HM11141185 from Hopkins are very similar. Both install and function the same way. About the only difference is the Hopkins harness comes with a little packet of dielectric grease. You could add dielectric grease # LT37534 if you wanted to go with the Curt harness. Either one will work for you though. If it were me I would go with the Curt harness since it costs less and has a 1-year warranty whereas...

  • Weight Capacity of Curt Receiver Combo Bar # E-9
  • Fabrication parts like Curt Combo Bar # E-9 do not carry a weight capacity rating because that will largely depend on the nature of the installation chosen. To what you weld it and how well you weld it will determine its ultimate capacity. If installed properly it will have enough capacity for any recovery winch intended for use in a 2-inch hitch.

  • The hitches we have for your 1991 Chevy Caprice are 1-1/4 inch like the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class II - 1-1/4" # C12009. The 2 inch hitches are reserved for larger vehicles like trucks and SUVs that would have higher towing capacities.

  • Is There a Trailer Hitch for a 1992 Cadillac Brougham
  • I may have an option for you but there aren't any custom fit trailer hitches for a 1992 Cadillac Brougham. Therefore, in order to attach a trailer hitch you'll need to do some modifying and or fabricating of your own. The best option we have for this is the Multi-Fit Motorhome Trailer Hitch part # 5350. The reason this option is best is because the width of the hitch can be adjusted for your frame and the two bolt mounting design would be pretty easy to mirror onto the frame as well. The...

  • Trailer Rocks Back and Forth and Rocks 1994 Chevy Caprice Station Wagon
  • It sounds like the trailer either does not have enough tongue weight and/or it is not level when towed. If you can move some weight further towards the front of the trailer that will help with the rocking sensation. To tow the trailer level you need a ball mount with the right rise or drop. On a Class II trailer hitch though you are supposed to use the ball mount recommended by the hitch manufacturer. I have included a link to a help article that shows how to measure to choose a ball mount...

  • Is Relay Harness Needed for Vision X 9004 Halogen Headlight Bulbs?
  • A relay harness is recommended for use with the Vision X 9004 Halogen Headlight Bulbs # VX-H9004 due to their high wattage: 80 watts for the low beams and 100 watts for high beams. There are lights that are a fit for your 1996 Chevy Caprice that do not require a harness and simply plug right in; I recommend checking out the Vision X 9004 Halogen Headlight Bulbs # VX-L9004 which have a low beam wattage of 55 and high beam wattage of 65. These lights have the same 900 lumen brightness as...
