What Hitch do You Recommend for My 1987 Chevy Caprice Sedan?
Question:
looking for bolt in class-3 hitch
asked by: George M
Helpful Expert Reply:
While we do have a great hitch option for your 1987 Chevy Caprice, we do not have any Class III hitches that fit.
With that being said, your best and only option is to use the Curt Hitch - Class II - 1-1/4" # C12009. Not only does the hitch come with 350 pounds of maximum tongue weight capacity and 3,500 pounds of maximum gross towing weight capacity, it also comes with a higher-quality gloss outer coating that provides more protection against rust and corrosion than any of our other brands. The only thing to note is that the installation does involve drilling as needed to install the U-bolts. As far as fitment, the hitch is only compatible with sedan models.
