I do have an option but wheel mount bike racks cannot be used on bikes that have fenders even if they are short fenders which only extend over the tires a few inches. Therefore, you'll have to use a frame mount bike rack and if you're looking for one with ramps, I recommend the Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack part # Y36FR with Fat Tire Straps for Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack part # Y23FR. I spoke with my contact at Curt and they told me that the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole on the Curt Trailer Hitch part # C12112, to the outer edge of the bumper on your 2014 Mazda CX-9 is 3-1/2 inches.

While we haven't test fit the HoldUp # Y02443-2 on a 2018 Mazda CX-9 like yours we can say that at the worst you'd have partial access to the rear hatch area like what you see in the picture. Like you said there are other factors like handlebar width etc.

The Curt hitch part # 13575 when installed does change the spare tire access but you still will be able to access the spare tire when needed. Basically you'll have to push the spare around the hitch as you raise or lower it.
