Recommended 2 Bike Hanging Style Hitch and Trunk Rack For 2015 Mazda CX-9

For your 2 bike hanging rack, there are 2 options a hitch mount or a trunk mount.
I recommend the Swagman Trailhead 2 Bike Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting # S63360. This rack has a tilting function so you can have better cargo access with bikes installed. It has an anti-rattle threaded pin included to keep the bike rack tight to your hitch, and anti-sway cradles to secure your bikes with durable rubber straps. I do recommend using a cable lock like # e98891 for further security. I also recommend the Swagman Deluxe Bike Frame Adapter Bar for Women's, Children's, and Alternative Frame Bikes # 64005 that creates a top frame rail for level transport and better ground clearance.
If you don't have a trailer hitch, but want to add one, I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 75531. It is an easy bolt-on installation with a nice looking round-tube design and black powder coat finish.
For a trunk mounted option, I recommend the Thule Passage 2 Bike Carrier - Trunk Mount # TH910XT. This is a confirmed fit for your 2015 Mazda CX-9. I recommend using the cable lock listed above as well as the Thule Passive Security Strap for Trunk Mounted Bike Carriers # TH533. You will also want the bike adapter bar for any step-through frames.
