  • Fitment Issues of Timbren Rear Suspension for Lifted Truck
  • It does appear to have proper fit for the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TGMRSB4S, that you would have to insert a spacer between the Timbren and the mount on your lifted 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche 2500 4x4. The Spacer # A25723-90AH00 will allow you to acheive the correct geometry for your Avalanche. At this time we do not carry the correct hardware to go along with these so you will need to find bolts that are 1" longer than the included bolts in the kit.

  • Recommendations for Sway Control While Towing a Travel Trailer in Windy Conditions
  • Good news, I can help you figure out a solution to your sway issue. The suspension enhancement from Timbren # TGMRYS4 you were looking at will help your Avalanche handle the sway a little better but not prevent the sway. If you wanted to help prevent the sway, I would recommend the friction sway control bar # 83660. If your travel trailer happens to be over 26 feet long then you may want to get two sway control bars, the second can mount on the trailer with an additional weld on bracket...

  • Parts Needed To Use Tekonsha Primus Bracke Controller In Second 2006 Chefvy Avalanche 1500
  • I can certainly help you out. You will need part # 3015-P adapter that plugs into the back of the Primus brake controller, part # TK90160. The other end gets installed in the port in the electric junction box under your dash. The junction box is located to the left of the steering column above the carpet. You just remove the cover on the box and the adapter plugs into the second slot form the left as shown in the attached photo. You will also need the mounting bracket, part # 5280. If...

  • Weight Distribution Recommendation for a 2008 Chevy Avalanche Towing a 7,900 lb Trailer
  • Before we choose a weight distribution system, we will want to make sure your 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche can handle the tongue weight of your trailer. You mentioned that your tongue weight capacity was 600 lbs. Many times trailer hitches will have two weight capacities listed, a weight carrying capacity and a weight distribution capacity. The weight distribution capacity is often higher than the weight carrying capacity, but a weight distribution system must be used. I recommend checking...

  • Replacement Tail Gate Lift Shock for 2006 Chevy Avalanche
  • I may have a solution for you, but we do not have a direct OEM style replacement shock for the 2006 Chevy Avalanche. However, you may be able to use the Hopkins EasyLift Truck Bed Tailgate Lift Assist # 74211 in place of the broken shock. This has been confirmed to work with GMC and Chevy trucks, so it should work on an Avalanche just the same. I've linked a review video of this part for you to take a look at, but it would be the best available solution we have for your vehicle.

  • Front Hitch Available for a 2005 Chevy Avalanche 1500 LTZ
  • We do offer a front mount hitch for the 2005 Chevy Avalanche 1500. Curt confirms that their # 31302 front mounted receiver is a fit for the 2005 Avalanche 1500. I've linked an install video and the instructions for you to look over to see if it's something you'd feel comfortable tackling yourself. Curt tells me that a trained professional installer should be able to complete the install in about an hour, and it would take a typical do-it-yourselfer about twice that.

  • How to Install an Aftermarket Brake Controller on a 2013 Chevrolet Avalance
  • I did some digging and it looks like the instrument panel contains blunt cut wires near the data link connector for the trailer brake controller on a 2013 Chevy Avalanche. The harness bundle contains the following wires: -Dark Blue: Brake Signal to Trailer Connector -Red/Black: Battery -Light Blue/White: Brake Switch - (2007 Avalanche will be Light Blue) -White: Ground All the 2007 and 2013 Chevrolet Avalanche models have these wires run, so they may just be tucked up out of the way....

  • Could Nuts and Bolts be Used to Install Friction Sway Control Instead of Screws
  • If you wanted to run bolts all the way through the frame of your trailer and then have nuts on the other side to install a friction sway control unit like the Reese part # 83660 you certainly could do that. People drill the frames of trailers for similar installed products like weight distribution system chains hangers etc.

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Brakes Not Releasing with Draw-Tite Activator Brake Controller
  • There are a few potential reasons why the trailer brakes don't seem to be releasing correctly after applying them in your Chevy Avalanche. I first recommend making sure you connected the red wire from your Draw-Tite Activator Brake Controller to the cold side of the stop light switch in the truck. This is the wire beneath the brake pedal that only receives power with the brake pedal depressed, and no power with any other function. You can use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to confirm...

  • Will the K-Source Vision System Block License Plate Information from Being Seen
  • I attached a picture that shows how much of a license plate the part # KSVS-8 would take up. But you should note that the angle of the picture makes the camera look like it take up more of the plate that it actually does. The best recommendation I can do is for you to compare the attached picture to the plates of your vehicle so that you can determine if any info on the plate would get covered. I attached an install video for you to check out as well.

  • Is Curt Class V Trailer Hitch Safe to Use on 2003 Chevy Avalanche Since it Doesn't Attach to Bumper
  • Your standard grade 5 half inch coarse threaded bolt has a clamping force of around 9,000 or more pound force and a 1/2 inch grade 5 coarse threaded bolt has a tensile strength of 120,000 pounds per square inch. This means one 1/2 inch grade 5 coarse thread bolt has the potential shear strength of 72,000 pounds per square inch. There are 4 of these bolts plus 2 already on the 2003 Avalanche that will be reused to install hitch # C15324. What all of this means is that the method and location...

  • Diagnosing Trailer Jack That Will Not Operate Through Vehicles 7 Way Wiring
  • Since all fuses are good and your jack works with shore power, it sounds the 12v from your vehicle's 7 way trailer connector is not reaching your jack's motor. I would start by making sure your aux 12v pin on the vehicle's 7 way connector is showing 12v; use a tester like LCD Digital Circuit Tester # PTW2992. If it is not getting 12v then trace that circuit on your vehicle to check for any cracked or broken wires and also double check the fuses. If you are getting 12v on that pin then use...

  • Installing Aries Oval Nerf Bars On A 2002 Chevy Avalanche Z71 With Clad Moldings
  • I took a look at the installation manual for your Aries Oval Nerf Bars w/ Custom Installation Kit - 6" Wide - Black Aluminum - 91" Long, part # AA4445003. It seems like the adjacent small hole was only used to align the clip you are supposed to insert. I would continue with the installation as if the hole was there. With regards to whether the brackets will fit with the clad moldings, the Aries representative said it will fit. I will defer to their expertise.

  • Lift Kit that Can Fit 1997 Coleman Key West Pop Up Camper
  • The simplest lift kit solution for your 1997 Coleman Key West Pop Up camper would be the Correct Track single axle lift kit part # LC87120 which can give you a lift of up to 2-1/4 inches and doesn't require you to know your axle diameter. The only way to determine if there's an over-under kit that would work would be for you to let me know the diameter of your axles.

  • Recommended Roof Rack and Kayak Carrier for 2008 Chevy Avalanche
