Before we choose a weight distribution system, we will want to make sure your 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche can handle the tongue weight of your trailer. You mentioned that your tongue weight capacity was 600 lbs. Many times trailer hitches will have two weight capacities listed, a weight carrying capacity and a weight distribution capacity. The weight distribution capacity is often higher than the weight carrying capacity, but a weight distribution system must be used. I recommend checking your owners manual or the specs sticker on your trailer hitch to see if your hitch has a weight distribution capacity high enough to handle the tongue weight of your trailer. If not, then I do not recommend towing your trailer with your Avalanche.

If your Avalanche can handle the tongue weight of your trailer, then we will want to choose a weight distribution system that can handle the total tongue weight of your setup. The total tongue weight will include the tongue weight of your trailer when it is loaded and ready to tow plus the weight of any cargo loaded in the bed behind the rear axle. Once we know your total tongue weight, we will want to choose a system rated high enough to handle that weight.

If your total tongue weight will remain under 1,000 lbs, then you could go with the Pro Series Weight Distribution System, # PS49583, that you referenced. If your total tongue weight will exceed 1,000 lbs, then I recommend stepping up to a larger system like the Reese Steadi-Flex, # RP66560 which has a maximum tongue weight capacity of 1,200 lbs. I have attached video reviews of both weight distribution system for you to check out.

Also, a hitch ball is not included with the Steadi-Flex systems. If you need a 2 inch hitch ball you can use part # A-90. If you need a 2-5/16 inch hitch ball, you can use part # 19286. I have attached the installation instructions for both weight distribution systems I mentioned and I have attached help articles on weight distribution and tongue weight for you to check out.
