How to Install an Aftermarket Brake Controller on a 2013 Chevrolet Avalance
Question:
I was following the instructions on this post: https://www.etrailer.com/question-11193.html and was working out which wire was which, however, I could not find one wire that only had a signal when the brake was pressed and I had two wires with constant power. Its my understanding that there should only be 1 wire with constant signal, a ground, the trailer brake wire blue, and a wire that has signal when the brake is pressed. Any idea as to what may be this issue? Thanks very much!

I did some digging and it looks like the instrument panel contains blunt cut wires near the data link connector for the trailer brake controller on a 2013 Chevy Avalanche. The harness bundle contains the following wires:
-Dark Blue: Brake Signal to Trailer Connector
-Red/Black: Battery
-Light Blue/White: Brake Switch - (2007 Avalanche will be Light Blue)
-White: Ground
All the 2007 and 2013 Chevrolet Avalanche models have these wires run, so they may just be tucked up out of the way. The color of the brake wire may be different between the two, as listed above, but should be located in the same place under the dash.
I included a video we did of an install of the Tekonsha P2 # 90885 we did on a 2013 Avalanche as well that may help.
