I checked in your owner's manual and when setting up the vehicle for this they say to put the selector lever in neutral and turn the engine switch to the “ACC” position. Your current taillights are grounding through the mounting hardware which is why there's on two wires and the LED Clearance light part # STL79RB instead grounds with the included white wire. So what you'd need to do is run the white wire to the mounting hardware of your trailer frame and you'd be set. Rhino Rack does not make a Pioneer Platform for the 2015 Scion xB. Yakima makes a similar 55" long x 49" wide platform, but the weight limit is 165 pounds, well under your needs. It also requires a fit kit that is not compatible with the Scion roof. Further, you will need to check your owners manual for your vehicles roof weight limit. I suspect it is below well below 165 as well.

The two wiring harnesses you referenced are essentially the same harness made by different manufacturers. Both are confirmed to fit your 2008 Scion xB and both will install in the exact same way.

This is a great question. The Curt Class I hitches do not have the weld stop built in to them to prevent a Class II accessory from installing. So you would be able to slide a Class II accessory into the opening.
