  • BX3754 2006 Scion XA Tow Bar & Flat Tow Equipment
  • Regarding extra wear to your Scion XA from flat towing, I have not heard any feed back about that concern. You may want to consult with your Scion Dealership Service Advisor. Regarding how to prepare your Scion for flat towing, the best advise will be in your owners manual. It is pretty straight forward. The parts you will need to flat tow your 2006 Scion XA are as follows. You will need a base plate kit unique to your vehicle. We offer two, and while the Blue Ox is currently lower...

  • Can a Dimmer Switch be Installed on an RV to Dim 921 Bulbs
  • You could install a dimmer switch provided that the switch is rated for use in a 12 volt system and that you can find the proper size dimmable bulbs. We do not carry any dimmable bulbs that would work. Technically any incandescent bulb could be dimmed but some are designed for it and would last longer. The only dimmer switches we carry are designed for Vision X LED lighting systems and would not work.

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow 2005 Scion xA Behind Motorhome
  • We have all of the components you'd need to flat tow your 2005 Scion xA AND the prices will be below on the product links. First thing you'll need is a base plate kit. For that you'd want the # 1170-1 which is confirmed fit. In addition to the base plates, you will also need a compatible tow bar, safety cables, lighting, and supplemental braking to flat tow your vehicle. The most popular compatible tow bar is the Falcon All Terain, # RM-522. This has non-binding arms which makes the setup...

  • Trunk Mounted Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2006 Scion xA
  • The Thule Gateway Pro Bike Carrier # TH88VR that you referenced is confirmed to fit your 2006 Scion xA. As long as it is installed correctly it should be plenty sturdy and would not fall off. I attached a review video and installation instructions for this product for you to look over. However, if you are looking for the most secure bike rack we offer that is confirmed to fit your vehicle you should take a look at the Thule OutWay Bike Carrier # TH45JV. This rack uses rubber coated straps...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch for Transporting Bikes on 2006 Scion xA
  • The Curt Class I Receiver Hitch # C11488 is the only available trailer hitch that is confirmed to fit your 2006 Scion xA. This is a very nice Class I hitch that will provide you with a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening and a 200 pound tongue weight capacity. Curt does require that stabilizing straps like # 18050 be used on non-trailer loads such as a bike rack. This is a requirement from Curt on their Class I and Class II (and some Class III) trailer hitch receivers. It is not an indication...

  • Trailer Hitch and Accessories Needed to Tow a Trailer with a 2004 Scion xA
  • There are a few basic items you will need to tow a trailer. First, you will need a trailer hitch. For a 2004 Scion xA I checked with Curt and they do list trailer hitch # C11488 as a fit. Next, you will need a ball mount, hitch pin, and clip. The recommended ball mount is # C45521. For a pin and clip use # PC2. For a ball it will depend on what the rental trailer coupler requires. For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256 and for a 2 inch ball use # 19258. For trailer wiring use # C56175. I have...

  • Trunk Mount Bike Rack Transporting 3 Bikes for 2006 Scion xA Recommendations
  • According to the Thule Fit guide the # TH78VR is a fit with 2004 through 2007 Toyota Scions, so it definitely is a fit for your 2006 Scion xA. As you may know Thule has had a reputation of manufacturing great products that are engineered for daily use. They are also test fitted on a variety of vehicles and stringently tested before being put into production. The Thule Gateway Pro has recently been redesigned therefore not as many reviews are available of the current production. That...

  • Oil Cooler for Scion xA Towing a 1400 pound Aliner Folding Camper
  • Transmission and oil coolers are an excellent method to reduce stress on a tow vehicle. Coolers will generally prolong the life of the protected engine systems. Since I do not know what model year xA you have I checked online manuals for several model years (the Xa was produced in 2004, 2005 and 2006). I could not find any confirmed towing capacity for the vehicle. I also contacted Scion by phone and was advised that the xA is not recommended by Scion for towing any trailer of any weight. For...

  • Weight of Base Plate and Tow Bar for Flat Towing 2006 Scion xA
  • The Blue Ox base plate kit that fits your 2006 Scion xA part # BX3754 weighs 37 lbs. You'll also need a tow bar that's compatible like the part # BX7380 which is the Blue Ox Alpha that weighs 46 lbs. For lighting you can use the diode kit, # RM-15267, and not have to worry about cutting into the taillight housing. This will splice into your taillight wiring to allow your tow vehicle to control the taillight assemblies of the towed vehicle. This comes with a round 6-way connector that you...

  • Trunk Mount Bike Carrier for 1 Bike on a 2006 Scion xA
  • For an inexpensive single bike trunk mount carrier you can use the Saris Solo, # SA102. It is the only single bike carrier that we have and it is very budget-friendly. I have linked a video review of this carrier for you. If your xA has the spoiler option at the top of the hatch then none of the trunk mount carriers should be used because they will not be able to install correctly.
