The Edge Insight CTS2 # EP84130 will connect to the OBD-II port in your 1996 Jeep Cherokee and will allow you to monitor the performance of your vehicle.
It has an accelerometer that measures G-force and vehicle pitch and roll, does performance tests with logged data, has visual and audible alerts when user-programmed parameters are reached or exceeded and includes some helpful apps. A backup camera # EP98201 can be attached to it so that you can see behind your Jeep as well.

You absolutely do not have to drill, cut, or otherwise make any modifications to the unibody or frame frame of your 2018 Jeep Cherokee when installing the Curt Class III Receiver Hitch # C13171. This is because the hitch will use existing holes in the frame for mounting.
The only bit of modification you may need to do on the vehicle is loosen or remove the underbody panel/fascia during installation.
I have attached an installation video on the 2018 Jeep Cherokee so you can see exactly... view full answer...
The install of the Curt trailer wiring harness part # C56208 would not be difficult but since it does require removing several rear interior panels it will most likely an hour or two depending on how hard you "hustle" through the install. If you have a tight schedule and want to make sure you allot enough time I would give yourself a 2 hour window just to be safe.
I attached an install video for this kit that will walk you through the entire process on a similar 2017 Jeep Cherokee. view full answer...
It sounds like you're almost completely draining your battery when you are flat towing your 2002 Chevy Silverado. The lights and supplemental braking system are slowly draining it on your trip. Once you get it started the alternator is recharging your battery and its fine. This will eventually kill your battery though.
I recommend installing the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles item # RM-156-25. This kit will maintain the battery charge in your Silverado while it... view full answer...
Locating the cold side of the stop light switch on your 2019 Jeep Cherokee can definitely be difficult, assuming you can even access it. You can use a circuit tester like the # PTW2993 to find which wire only has power when the brake pedal is pressed and splice into it for installation.
Alternatively, you can install the Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751471. This is often the solution when the factory wire is difficult to find or inaccessible. Once installed, you can finish your... view full answer...
The etrailer Invisible Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # e98953 you were looking at is confirmed to fit your 2021 Jeep Cherokee, and since you have the tow hooks you will simply need to remove them during the install.
To complete your flat towing setup you will still need a tow bar, safety cables, tow bar wiring, and a supplemental braking system. My recommendations are as follows:
Tow Bar: Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar # RM-522
Safety Cables: Roadmaster 64" Single... view full answer...
In order to convert the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness part # C56208 to a 7-way I recommend you use the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit part # ETBC7L because it comes with the adapter, the power wire/circuit breaker that is needed for the battery charge circuit, and a trailer connector mounting bracket.
In regards to installation, you will need to run a separate wire for both the converter box and the battery charge circuit. The reason for this is because they each require a certain amount... view full answer...
The Curt TriFlex Trailer Brake Controller part # C24VV with Curt Custom Wiring Adapter for Trailer Brake Controllers part # C51459 is an excellent option for a 2018 Jeep Cherokee with tow package. The brake controller will mount on the dash within reach and then the custom adapter will plug into the rear of the controller and then the tow package port on the vehicle which is located underneath the dash, just to the left of the steering wheel, taped to another harness near the emergency... view full answer...
To carry a woman's style bike that does not have a horizontal top tube with the Hollywood Racks Over the Top part # HRF2 you will need a bike frame adapter. The best option is the part # UB01 as we've found it's the easiest to use, has the widest range, and is priced great.
I attached a review video for the adapter and bike rack for you to check out as well. view full answer...
The easiest thing to do would be to order a replacement hardware kit, # RHK. Just insert the hitch number in the box below Shipping Special. Then select the manufacturer from the drop down (Draw-Tite or Hidden Hitch will be the same as Reese). Then select Add To Cart. That will be all you need.
For installation of a hitch on a 1992 Jeep Cherokee, you will need the following:
Eight M12-1.75 x 40mm Hex Tap Bolts
Eight HFN 1213 Hex Flange Nuts
Two 1/2-13 x 1-3/4 Hex Tap Bolts
Six CM-SP1... view full answer...
When looking at hitch capacities, when used with weight distribution will actually refer to a separate part used as a ball mount, for the lack of a better way to put it. If you take a look at the Curt Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System # C17500, it will explain that better. What these basically do is distribute the weight, hence the name, across more than just the one point a ball will lock into a coupler of a trailer. This allow something like the Curt # C13395, which is the confirmed... view full answer...
The part you are referring to (Mopar's 68321424AB) was indeed a fix for certain models and years of Jeep Cherokee that were experiencing the dreaded "death wobble", but your 2021 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk does not fall under these years. Those years were from 2014 to 2018 and the issue has since been resolved, so it will not be needed. This means that once the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate # RM-521451-5 is installed, along with the rest of a full set up I recommend listed below in... view full answer...
Since you are using the Demco Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System w/ Wireless Coachlink Monitor # DM86VR you'll want to run the red wire of the BrakeBuddy Towed Vehicle Battery Charge Kit Item # BB54FR to your 6 pin connector unlike in the two videos I've attached of brake buddy braking systems where they show the installation for the battery charge kit since we don't have a solo video for this particular item. I've also attached a picture of the installation steps. The small black... view full answer...
If your Kountry Star has an air port at the rear of it and you wanted to use a supplemental braking system designed for air brake motorhomes like the Air Force One # SM99243. Two possibilities come to mind. I haven't been able to confirm this for the 2019 model, but I know that earlier models like the 2013-2016 model years needed the tow package activated at the dealer, even if they were equipped with the factory tow package. Before doing that, I'd check the fuse box as it's possible that your Cherokee is lacking one of the tow package fuses in the fuse box located under the hood, near the battery. I've checked the owner's manual, and there's two likely fuse... view full answer...
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13171 is a fit for a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. It does not require that you lower the exhaust or remove any exhaust components. If you have a Trailhawk model then you will unclip a portion of the fascia around the exhaust but that's pretty much it. I have attached an install video on a Limited model below. view full answer...
Yes, you would have to change the position of the lens in utility light # 507-12 to maintain the shape of the light beam as if it were mounted level. Though it may be easier to move where the bracket is mounted on the light housing. view full answer...
The Camco Power Grip RV Power Maximizer, part # CAM55025 can be used with the 110 plug only or with the 30 Amp plug only, or with both when you have the receptacles available. Using just the plug in a 110 receptacle will limit the input to 15 amps so you may have issues if you are trying to use any items that require more power.
If all you need is the 30 amp connection for your motorhome I recommend part # CAM55175. This cord adapter lets you convert your motorhome plug to work with electrical... view full answer...
There is no quick-connect brake controller port under the dash on your 2014 Jeep Cherokee so the hard-wire installation steps will depend on whether or not it has a factory 7-way connector. A brake controller like the excellent Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885 will install either with a brake controller install kit # ETBC7 (if you do not have a factory 7-way) or wiring kit # 5506 if you do have the 7-way.
The two linked articles and installation video will give you step by step guidance. view full answer...
