Activating 12-Volt Supply Circuit on 2019 Jeep Cherokee

Question:

Hi, I am looking to purchase from you the Curt Echo Wirless trailer brake controler C51180 to install in a 2019 Jeep Cherokee not Grand Cherokee that has a factory installed 4 and 7 pin trailer electric connection. Per your advice I checked while the vehicale was running if I have power to the 1 oclock pin. I do not. What am I missing? There is power to all the other pins when entergized by their respective functions... lights, turn signals etc. how do I get power to that pin?

Two possibilities come to mind. I haven't been able to confirm this for the 2019 model, but I know that earlier models like the 2013-2016 model years needed the tow package activated at the dealer, even if they were equipped with the factory tow package. Before doing that, I'd check the fuse box as it's possible that your Cherokee is lacking one of the tow package fuses in the fuse box located under the hood, near the battery. I've checked the owner's manual, and there's two likely fuse locations to check, # F42 which the manual describes at 'Trailer Tow Module' or # F44 which is described as 'Trailer Tow Receptacle'. Both fuses are 30A.
