  • Battery Life and Charging Time For The Linxup GPS AT3 Tracking Device
  • I spoke to Linxup and they informed me that if the battery is completely drained on the Linxup GPS Tracking Device # 300-AT3, that it would take between 4-8 hours to fully charge the battery. Once charged the battery will last up to 3 months as while siting it will report its location once a day. When the device is moving it will report its location every 10 minutes which will cause the battery to be depleted sooner if it is not charging while in use.

  • How Can You Tell if a 2015 Silverado Z71 has a Factory Brake Controller?
  • This will indeed be a factory brake controller. The slide lever will be the manual override and the plus and minus buttons will set the level of braking for the trailer brakes. I included a picture of this from the owners manual as well. From what I could find out, this should work with both electric brakes and electric over hydraulic brakes as well. With all that being said, if the controller has never been used, or even if it has, it is a good idea to check to make sure it is functioning...

  • Can the Battery on a Trailer be Charged by Just a 7 Way on a Vehicle?
  • You are correct in that connecting a trailer battery to the 12 volt port on a 7 Way plug will not charge it and will only maintain the charge on said battery. Odds are the people that are actually charging their batteries do either have the Redarc # 331-BCDC1240D or something similar. If your set up is working for you, I would stick with it. However, it may be a good idea to set it up a little differently. The Buyers Products 2-Way Die-Cast Zinc Trailer Connector - Truck Side # 337TC1002...

  • Command Electronics Ultra Modern Dual LED Tail Light Resistor Requirements
  • The Dual LED Trailer Tail Light # CE86FR will not require a resistor if you are mounting it on a trailer. The flash rate is determined off the vehicle and the LED bulbs in the trailer should not be affected. Some vehicles will give a lamp out indicator on the dash as they believe the bulb is out. This is mostly found on European vehicles and can be fixed with a Trailer Connector Adapter w/ Lamp-Out Sensor Bypass # 20142. If you are installing these onto a vehicle a resistor may be needed...

  • Are Multiple Surge Protectors Necessary
  • Multiple surge protectors such as the Camco RV Power Defender Voltage Protector # CAM55301 are not needed. Though we do not carry the Progressive protectors, if you are using a voltage protector like the # CAM55301 for 30 amp or # CAM55306 for 50 amp then there is no reason to add another protector.

  • Heaviest Weight Bike Can Be With use of Trunk-Mount Bike Rack
  • The most a bike can weigh with the use of any trunk-mounted bike rack, including the Saris Bones 3 Bike Carrier # SA801BL is 35 lbs because heavier bikes are unable to be properly supported. For a bike that weighs 42 lbs you will need to use a trailer hitch and hitch-mounted bike rack; if you let me know the year, make and model of your vehicle as well as how many bikes you are looking to carry I will be happy to help you find the best solution for a bike rack.

  • Estimated Life Expectancy of Westlake WE76FR 235/80-16 Trailer Tires
  • Due to the long list of variables that can affect the lifespan of a trailer tire, Lionshead who manufactures the Westlake tires couldn't provide a mileage number. They tell me that the average life expectancy of a trailer tire is between 3 and 5 years, which I'd certainly agree with. Trailer tires will typically tend to dry rot and crack before the tread wears down. The best way to maximize the life of your tires is to: • Keep tires inflated to psi listed on tire sidewall • Don't exceed...

  • Replacement Shroud for Coleman-Mach 799A381
  • I was unable to find the dimensions of that exact model number, but it is a Coleman-Mach AC and based on similar model numbers the most likely correct shroud is the following: - MaxxAir TuffMaxx Replacement RV Air Conditioner Cover for Coleman-Mach RV Air Conditioners # MA00-325001 I do recommend measuring to verify this cover will fit though, as this particular shroud measures 41-5/8" long x 29-3/8" wide x 12-3/4" tall. I have added a link below to a video review for you to check out...

  • What Does the Depth of A Roof Vent Mean
  • When you're looking to replace a 14 x 14 roof vent, the depth you'll need will depend on the distance from the ceiling to the top of the roof, or the roof thickness. For instance, the # V3092-603-00 Ventline roof vent wouldn't include the interior trim (also known as the garnish) or the install kit such as # 344270KITW. You'll want to chose a garnish that has a 'Leg' length that's equal to or greater than the thickness of your roof. If the garnish is a little too deep, you can always trim...

  • 5th Wheel Towing with 2018 Toyota Tundra Double Cab
  • From the online specs available to me the 2018 Toyota Tundra Double Cab has a max towing capacity of 6,400 to 10,200 lbs. We always recommend that you consult your vehicle specific owners manual for towing specs as each models trim specs, engine option and gearing all influence the vehicle capability. You do not state what bed length you have but if you have the 6-1/2' bed you will most likely need a slider type hitch. I suggest the B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider, # BWRVK3270...

  • What is the Purpose Behind the Small Hole on RV Shower Faucets
  • That small hole that you are seeing on the Phoenix Faucets Catalina RV Shower Valve w/ Vacuum Breaker # PF223304 and other RV specific showers is actually a part of the vacuum breaker. The vacuum breaker is where you would hook up the shower heard and is designed with that small hole in order to prevent backflow contamination of your clean water supply.

The electric brake (blue) is 12 gauge. The left turn (yellow), right turn (green), tail marker (brown), and back up (purple) are 14 gauge.

  • Can the Polar Door Hinge PLR1902 be Separated?
  • The ends of the Polar Ramp Door Hinge # PLR1902 are actually welded on, so they cannot be separated. However, we do have a few other options available for you. The Polar Dump Door Hinge # PLR1904-Z does use a bolt to hold everything together. There is still a zerk fitting to allow everything to be lubricated. It is quite a bit different, however, so the next option may be a better option. The Redline 3/4" Greasable Hinge # HP344G can be paired with # HPN342. This could then be adapted...

  • Recommended Brake Controller for a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee With Factory Tow Package
  • From what I could find, the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee did not come with a factory brake controller. However, you do have a factory port for an aftermarket controller to plug directly in to. The Tekonsha Primus IQ # TK90160 paired with the plug and play harness # TK93VR will be the ones I suggest. This is a very easy controller to set up and use, and can handle trailers with up to 3 axles that have brakes. The harness will also plug directly into a port under the dash. I included a video...

  • Lubricating Heininger Twistep Portable Pet Step # HE3052
  • I spoke with my contact at Heininger, who recommended applying oil and working the swivel. It's kind of difficult for the oil to find its way into the swivel, so apply a thin bead around the swivel as shown in the photo I provided for you.. Also, apply oil to the hole for the pull knob. This will put the oil right where it can do the most good. You might need to do this a few times.
