How Can You Tell if a 2015 Silverado Z71 has a Factory Brake Controller?
Question:
Do I have factory trailer brakes I have a lever on right side steering wheel with picture of a trailer and a plus and minus on the lever

This will indeed be a factory brake controller. The slide lever will be the manual override and the plus and minus buttons will set the level of braking for the trailer brakes. I included a picture of this from the owners manual as well.
From what I could find out, this should work with both electric brakes and electric over hydraulic brakes as well.
With all that being said, if the controller has never been used, or even if it has, it is a good idea to check to make sure it is functioning properly. I included an article that will show how and where to test to make sure everything is working properly.
I included a couple other articles for you to check out as well.
