What is the Purpose Behind the Small Hole on RV Shower Faucets

Question:

I see that on this and anther RV specific shower faucets, the outlet there’s basically a single pin hole for the water to go through. Is there a specific reason for this? Wouldn’t you want a whole that would take the whole area of the connection?

That small hole that you are seeing on the Phoenix Faucets Catalina RV Shower Valve w/ Vacuum Breaker # PF223304 and other RV specific showers is actually a part of the vacuum breaker. The vacuum breaker is where you would hook up the shower heard and is designed with that small hole in order to prevent backflow contamination of your clean water supply.
