  • How Much Horsepower Does the Flashpaq # SU1545 Deliver?
  • I have a solution for you. Unfortunately, the Superchips Flashpaq F5 Pro Custom Performance Tuner - Gas/Diesel # SU1545 requires uploading custom tunes to the device and transferring it to the vehicle in order to gain extra horsepower. With that being said, there are no settings on the Flashpaq that delivers horsepower gains. If you want preset tunes, my contact at Superchips recommends the # SU1845 or # SU4845 (California residents approved). These have preset tunes that have horsepowers...

  • Where To Line the Hitch Ball Hole Up When Install Gooseneck Hitch On 2001 F-250 with 2011 F-250 Bed
  • If you have a 2001 Ford F-250 Chassis with 2011 Ford F-250 Bed then the location of the hitch ball for the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch part # BWGNRK1108 which is designed for the 2001 Ford F-250 Chassis most likely won't match up with the 2011 Ford F-250 Bed. I would also think the different generation bed could create issues when measuring so you would be best off to mock up the hitch first and then mark a hole though the center where the hitch ball should be located...

  • How to Determine Which Wire is Which on 7 Way RV Connector
  • In general terms, when you have a red wire on a 7 way connector it is typically going to be the left hand brake and turn signals. With that being said, it's probably more important to note where it is connected since this will determine what it is used for. I've attached the wiring diagrams for 7 way connectors to use as a reference as well as a general guideline below. Typically, the wiring in each application isn't going to be completely universal, so going off the color of the wire...

  • Installing the Putco Chrome Door Handle Covers # P401209 on 2014 Ford F-250
  • The Putco Chrome Door Handle Covers, # P401209, will install directly over the top of the door handles on your 2014 Ford F-250. There is no need to remove your door handles. I do recommend doing a quick test fit of the covers before removing the adhesive backing to ensure that you have the positioning correct.

  • Can Edge Tuner Lower Speed Capability On 2008 Ford F-250 Truck
  • I spoke with my contact at Edge about your 2008 F-250, and the speed-limiter setting on the Edge EvoHT2 Hand-Held Performance Tuner, part # EP16040. They told me that the tuner is not designed to lower the speed limit of your vehicle. The tuner is designed to raise the speed limit when needed, and if disconnected will have no effect on the speed limit the vehicle can drive.

  • Routing the Wiring for the Truck Bed Cargo Camera on a 2014 Ford F350 Super Duty
  • When routing the wiring for the Truck Bed Cargo Camera for 8" Factory Monitor # 3460006 you should be able to run it inside the trim that runs from the roof to your dash. Whenever we route wiring on any vehicle this is typically a safe place to run it. Although we haven't performed this specific installation on a 2014 Ford F-350 Super Duty you can see in the attached review video where we did this on a similar Super Duty.

  • What Size Hardware Fits Driver Side Mounting Bracket for Air Lift LoadLifter Air Springs # AL88396
  • My contact at AirLift confirmed that if your existing 5th wheel installation hardware is 3/4-inch diameter rather than the 1/2-inch supplied with the AirLift kit, you can simply drill out the holes in the AirLift brackets so they will accept the larger hardware in place from your 5th wheel installation. He assured me that this minor modification will not have any negative effects on the installation.

  • Can Short Bed Trucks Tow Gooseneck Trailers
  • The one really big downside to gooseneck towing is that there isn't a great solution for short bed truck clearance unlike fifth wheel towing. With fifth wheel hitches you can use a slider hitch and have the clearance issue handled. With gooseneck towing there isn't really anything you can do. The only way it's possible is if the nose of the gooseneck trailer is tapered to help with the turning clearance. The Spyder part # 16085 does fit industry standard fifth wheel rails like you have...

  • Torque Specs and Install Instructions for Curt Hitch on 2006 Ford F-250
  • I have added a cut out of the installation instructions, which are linked on this page and also linked on the product page of the Curt Trailer Hitch # C15810 that fits your 2006 Ford F-250. You can refer this cut out or you click either link to the instruction manuals. The reason they are not stated outright in the video is because on rare occasion manufacturers change these specs.

  • Installation Instructions for the Truck Bed Cargo Camera for 8" Factory Monitor # 3460006
  • I was able to take a picture of the instructions for the Truck Bed Cargo Camera for 8" Factory Monitor - Switch Kit # 3460006 that you referenced. The camera unit actually has a "T" harness that will send the video feed directly to the OEM monitor on your Ford Super Duty. I am not sure how the fitter switches are connected in your pickup but if one of them is connected to power you can simply connect the wire for the rocker switch to your OEM switch and just leave the rocker switch in...

  • Installation of Hopkins 5th Wheel Wiring Harness and Hopkins Backup Camera Simultaneously
  • With the Hopkins Endurance 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness with 7-Pole Plug # HM40157 connected to your 1999 Ford F-250, you can still run the Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera and Hitch Aligner System # HM50002 without additional splicing. You will not need to remove one to connect the other. They can be connected at the same time. I do recommend using dielectric grease # 11755 to ensure you have the best possible connection. When we install parts like this together we...

  • Installation Instructions For Curt Quick Goose 2 Gooseneck Hitch with Installation Kit
  • I have attached the instructions for your Curt Quick Goose 2 Gooseneck Hitch with Installation Kit # C640-644 for you. The instruction manual states you will need to measure from the tail gate end of the truck bed. Do this by hooking a tape measure over the back of the truck box and marking the correct location. Next, mark the center between the wheel wells. This marks the center point for the drill hole. This hole location is critical for the correct installation of this hitch. Measure,...

  • Can I Wire My Backup Camera System into the Vehicle's 7 Way Trailer Plug
  • There isn't a specific product for this application but you could splice into your trailer wiring harness to provide power for your backup camera. The best solution for you on this is going to be to splice into the running light circuit on the 7 way connector, so that all you'll have to do is turn the lights on the truck on in order to activate the camera; using the 12v aux circuit would draw power from the battery constantly and likely drain the battery. The running light/tail light circuit...

  • Do the Husky Fifth Wheel Rails and Installation Kit # HT31563-686 Require Drilling into Truck Frame
  • The Husky Custom Base Rail Kit # HT31408-686 will install using the existing holes in your 2013 Ford F-250 Crew Cab Short Bed. Since this is a custom fit bracket you will not need to drill holes into the frame of your truck. The Husky Universal Base Rail Installation Kit # HT31563-686 that you referenced is not a custom fit, and it will likely require drilling into the vehicle frame for installation.

  • Installing 5th Wheel Hitch in 2002 Ford F250 So It Wont Interfere w/ Existing Gooseneck Hitch
  • The mounting brackets that join your existing gooseneck hitch to the truck frame are sitting right where the fifth wheel install brackets would need to install, so unfortunately there's no getting around the fact that you wouldn't be able to install both hitches on your truck. There are existing adapters that would allow you to tow a fifth wheel trailer with a gooseneck hitch, but the majority of them are pretty rough of the frame of the fifth wheel. The few exceptions to that rule are...

  • Does Curt 2-inch Class V Hitch C15410 Include Trailer Wiring Mounting Bracket
  • Curt 2-inch Class V hitch # C15410 is not pre-drilled for installation of a trailer connector mounting bracket but we do have an add-on kit. Part # C57202 is a no-drill long mounting bracket that can be used with a 7-way mounting plate like # 18138. The long bracket secures to your hitch tube with the included ring clamp and the connector mounting bracket bolts up to it. This Curt hitch will bolt on to your 2011 F-350 using the supplied hardware and existing holes in the truck's frame....

  • The controller that comes with the Go Power Retreat Solar Charging System with Digital Solar Controller - 100 Watt Solar Panel # 34272635 has a switch on it that you'll press when you're plugged into shore power or are towing, so this is built in and you won't need to add anything. I've linked our review video of this system for you to check out that details how to use the controller system.

  • Why Not Directly Weld On Weight Distribution Brackets to Trailer Frame
  • The reason to install steel plate to enclose an I-beam trailer frame to allow use of a weight distribution hitch's lift brackets is that this method makes for easier replacement of a bracket should one fail. If you directly weld the modified lift bracket to the I-beam then you will have a tougher time of removing it should it ever fail. Using the steel plate means you can bolt/clamp one on and more easily remove it if the need arises.
