  • Why Would Prodigy Brake Controller Show Random Numbers Occasionally With No Trailer Connected
  • Somehow a 12 volt power source is shorting out to the red wire of the brake controller. This is the circuit that tells the controller to turn on and start looking for braking so an intermittent short here is going to cause the controller to show numbers on the display when you hit a bump. Try checking the wiring of the controller to see if you can separate out the red wire better from the other wires and the problem should go away.

  • Locking Pin Recommendation for Pro Series Tri Ball Mount 63070
  • There is a lock set designed specifically for the Pro Series adjustable ball mount # 63070. It is lock set # 63069. This set includes a 3/4" lock to replace the pin that holds the ball mount platform in place on the shank, and a 5/8" lock to secure the ball mount in a 2" hitch. There isn't a lock for the smaller pin used to secure the tri-ball part to the rest of the ball mount. The smaller pin diameter is 3/8 inch.

  • Should Light Be On Display of PowerTrac Brake Controller without Trailer Connected
  • If your 2004 Chevy Avalanche came equipped with the factory 7-Way connector installing your PowerTrac Brake Controller # 39523 should indeed just be a matter of plugging it into the factory port behind the dash using the Plug-In Adapter # 3015-P. No other connections need to be made. With the PowerTrac installed and a trailer not connected there won't be a light displayed on the controller, so what you're getting is normal. I simply recommend connecting your trailer to make sure the green...

  • Can Jensen Stereo # JWM60A Replace Stereo Other Brand Stereo and Wire in Easily
  • I wish there was an adapter plug, but you'd have to splice the wires individually. The wires on the Jensen Stereo # JWM60A are labeled and the stereo you have now should have the wires labeled as well. You'd have to match them by function.

  • Can 50 Amp RV Plug Be Hooked Up to Progressive Dynamics Converter # PD4060K
  • I reached out to my contact at Progressive Dynamics and he said the 4000 Series Inteli-Power Converter # PD4060K won't work with a 50 amp inlet like # A10-50INBKVP because the AC/DC panel is only rated at 30 amps. With this in mind you could hook up a 30 amp inlet such as the Epicord # 277-000137 to your existing panel. Otherwise to install a 50 amp inlet you would need a higher-rated converter and AC/DC panel like the Progressive Dynamics # PD4575K18LS8. This particular unit features...

  • How Does Brake Controller Install in 2007 Chevy Avalanche
  • Your Tekonsha Primus IQ part # TK90160 can install in your 2007 Chevy Avalanche pretty easily but there isn't a connector under the dash for installing the controller. You will connect the brake controller wiring with the vehicle wiring already present under the dash. If you check out the link I attached you will see a guide for installing a controller in a truck just like yours.

  • 1999 Toyota Tacoma Universal Tow Mirror Recommendation
  • We don't carry the Millenco Grand Aero mirrors so we don't have any first hand experience to share about them on your 1999 Toyota Tacoma. The CIPA Deluxe Door Mount Mirror # 11650 isn't pretty, but it is an excellent tow mirror what will mount securely and won't vibrate. I attached a review video for you to check out also. Another option is the the K Source Universal Clip-On Towing Mirror, part # KS3891 for your truck. As long as you have a lip on the edge of your mirrors, these will work...

  • Westin Grille Guard Recommendation for a 2005 Chevy Avalanche
  • The Westin Sportman Grille Guards are made custom to each vehicle they fit. Westin makes the grille guards and the hardware kits custom to fit each vehicle. So to answer your question, no you would not be able to take a Westin grille guard designed for a different vehicle and adapt it to your 2005 Chevy Avalanche. You would need to get the Westin Grille Guard part # 40-1175 that you referenced.

  • How to Make 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche Ready to Tow Travel Trailer
  • According to the online manual I reviewed for the 2002 Avalanche, its towing capacity will vary based on how it is equipped. The V8 with 2WD has a maximum trailer weight rating of 7100-lbs (with the 3.73 axle ratio) or 8300-lbs (with the 4.10 axle ratio). The V8 with 4WD has a maximum trailer weight rating of 7100-lbs (with the 3.73 axle ratio) or 8100-lbs (with the 4.10 axle ratio). These are the maximums, and must be observed. Your trailer when fully loaded with water, propane, supplies,...

  • How to Pick Out Replacement Brake Assemblies for 2006 Keystone Outback 25RSS
  • I can help you find the right assemblies, but I do not know exactly which ones you have on your trailer. To pick out the correct brake assemblies for your trailer you need to know a few things. You will want to measure the inner diameter of your hub/drums and the depth of the drums to determine what brake assembly dimensions you need. For example the part # AKEBRK-35-SA is a 10 inch by 2-1/4 inch thick brake assembly. You also want to determine what the bolt pattern is of your assembly...

  • 2011 Chevrolet Avalanche Transmission Cooler Recommendation
  • The Flex-a-lite Translife Transmission Cooler # FLX4126 that you ordered is pretty large at 20" wide x 10" tall x 3/4" deep. Your best option is going to be to go with a smaller cooler that is a more efficient style like the stacked plate Derale part # D13403 which measures 13" Wide x 7-5/16" tall x 2" deep so that you can fit both your factory and aftermarket cooler installed at same time.

  • We do offer the mud flaps for your 2012 Chevrolet Avalanche Z71. These are made by WeatherTech and are both a no-drill easy-install fit. For the front mud flaps the part number is # WT110013. I have attached a photo that has some dimensions that you asked about. You can measure from the lowest mounting hole on your truck and estimate pretty closely how far the mud flap will extend below. • Tailgate Assist Options for 2004 Chevy Avalanche
  • For your 2004 Chevy Avalanche a couple "unofficial" tailgate assist options. For a shock dampener like you asked about the DeeZee part # DZ43102 will work great. Or for something to make raising and lower the tailgate much easier we have the Hopkins # 74211 which we know works too.

  • Recommended Snow Chains for 2013 Chevy Avalanche with 275/55R20 Tires
  • I took a look at the online version of the owner's manual for your 2013 Chevy Avalanche and it does state that snow chains should only be installed on the rear tires. While it might technically be possible, I don't recommend adding chains to the front wheels as it could lead to damage on the truck. I do also want to mention that the manual states that chains shouldn't be used at all on the truck if it's equipped with 275/55R20 sized tires, as there isn't a lot of wheel well clearance...

  • Replacement Mounting Bolts and Rivets Recommendation Reese Dual Cam Sway Control
  • It sounds like you need the thread forming screws that attach the dual-cam sway control brackets to the trailer frame. Is this is correct then you will need set # 58437 for 8 or # 58459 for 2. You also need the rivet nuts, # RP58507, for a set of 4.

  • Recommended Sway Control for a Single Beam Tongue Boat Trailer
  • I do have a solution for you, but the Curt Friction Sway Control # 17200 can not be used on single beam trailers or trailers with surge brakes. While you did not mention a weight distribution system, that is going to be the only way to get sway control on your trailer with out custom fabrication. You will use a pole tongue adapter like the Pole-Tongue Adapter for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems # EQ95-01-5950. This adapter attaches to your trailer's tongue and provides properly...

  • What Angle Do The Frame Rails Need To Be To Use the Sleeve-Lock A-Frame Trailer Coupler
  • The Sleeve-Lock A-Frame Trailer Coupler part # CA-5296-B is designed for a standard 50 degree a-frame trailer. If you have an a-frame trailer then this is likely what you have as I would say a good 95% of a-frame trailers use the standard 50 degree angle. I don't have any CAD drawing of the above unfortunately but let me know if you do not have the standard 50 degree angle.

  • Reese Dual Cam WD Hitch Upgrade Recommendation
  • For your 2012 Chevrolet Avalanche with a loaded truck and trailer and a tongue weight of 880 pounds as opposed to 610 pounds of the original estimation I would definitely recommend upgrading to the 1,200 pound capacity trunnion bars for your weight distribution system. The replacement trunnion bars that are rated up to 1,200 pounds are part # RP66009. These trunnion bars are sold individually so you would need to get 2 to replace your current trunnion bars on your weight distribution...
