Should Light Be On Display of PowerTrac Brake Controller without Trailer Connected
Question:
2004 Chevy avalanche I bought the controller with the plug and play harness and installed it per instructions. Should I have a light on without trailer being connected or is there something under the hood that needs to be hooked up. It came with factory tow package

Helpful Expert Reply:
If your 2004 Chevy Avalanche came equipped with the factory 7-Way connector installing your PowerTrac Brake Controller # 39523 should indeed just be a matter of plugging it into the factory port behind the dash using the Plug-In Adapter # 3015-P. No other connections need to be made.
With the PowerTrac installed and a trailer not connected there won't be a light displayed on the controller, so what you're getting is normal. I simply recommend connecting your trailer to make sure the green light indicating a connection shows up on the display.
If not just let me know and I will be happy to look into this further.
