Reduced axle sag with Timbren suspension enhancement

Just like the rear of your vehicle will sag under the weight of a fully loaded bed, the front of your vehicle will sag when under the burden of heavy equipment such as a snowplow. In this case, the front axle is handling not only the weight of the equipment, but also more of the vehicle's weight. Overall vehicle handling - traction, steering, and braking - is negatively affected. But the resistance from Timbren's Suspension Enhancement System works with your factory suspension to keep your vehicle level and improve your driving experience.

Install diagrams of Timbren hollow rubber springs

The Timbren system comes with custom-fit brackets that are bolted onto each frame rail above your front axle. Hollow rubber springs are bolted to the bottom of the bracket and hang down so that the bottom of each spring touches the axle. Because each spring is making constant contact with the axle, it is always working to cushion and support your factory suspension.

Animation of a standard Timbren rubber spring

Timbren Suspension Enhancement Systems are designed to work progressively. When the hollow rubber springs are compressed, the convoluted design causes them to quickly collapse along the folds. Once the folds are compacted, the stacked barrel shape increases resistance, stiffening the suspension and keeping your vehicle level.

Timbren suspension system works to prevent body roll

Each hollow rubber spring works independently to support the driver's-side or passenger's-side of your vehicle. This is helpful when you swerve or make sharp turns. Each spring is activated when it is needed, so body roll is greatly reduced. The independent action also works well when you're carrying off-center loads.

A snowplow mounted to the front of the truck will require extra suspension support for the front axle.

Timbren's Suspension Enhancement System will help raise the front end of your vehicle when you're using heavy equipment like a snowplow. This ensures that your headlight beams will be pointed in the right direction and tire wear will be reduced. If the plow is off-center or has an extension, the springs will automatically compensate for this as well.

An empty truck on a bumpy road without Timbren

Another great feature of the rubber construction is that the springs absorb most of the road shock, creating a smoother, more stable ride overall. Wear and tear on the factory suspension is also lessened because the rubber springs work to prevent bottoming out on rough roads.

Timbren Suspension Enhancement Compared to the Competition

Timbren's Suspension Enhancement Systems are much easier to install than air springs - there are no air hoses to run, no compressors or gauges to hook up, and no manual adjustments to make. The rubber construction makes Timbren's springs more elastic than similar products constructed of microcellular urethane. More elasticity allows for a more comfortable ride because the rubber has more travel.

I installed front and rear suspension upgrades on a 2012 tundra. It made a world of improvement. While the Tundra has extreme power and a great ride it was too soft for the towing that I was doing. I would have to compare it after the Timbren upgrade to a well built one ton.
It was by far money well spent and an outstanding upgrade with great performance. I would and have recommended these Timbren upgrades to anyone needing suspension improvements. By far a great bang for your dollars spent.

by:

Helps tremendously when hauling!
Surprisingly,
it smooths out bumps with no load. I'm very happy with my purchase!

by:

very firm, solid, I am very happy for having purchased this product I really recommend it. Tony Arias, Houston Texas.

2010 Toyota Tundra

These are an awesome suspension up grade. Great for beefing up a half ton. I installed front and rear timbrens on my 02 tundra and im carrying 2000 lbs. Level, no suspension sag and have had 2800 lbs on still handled ok with no droop. Down side is they ride really rough if you do alot of dirt road / off-road driving. I don't recommend those load weiights with 6 ply tires move up to 10 ply.

My 2019 Tacoma’s ride was a total joke until I installed the Timbren’s on my front and rear suspension. The truck rides a 100 percent better after installing the Timbren system. It was extremely easy to install. I highly recommend this product.

2013 Toyota Tundra

This company E Trailer is great and they kept me inform regarding the status of my front and back Timbren System for my 2013 Toyota Tundra 4 x4 Dublecab . The product was delivered and it looks great . Tomorrow I take it to a mechanic for Instal .

After towing with the TIMBREN SES system installed, I wouldn't tow any other way. I've installed these on (2) SUVs, and (2) pick ups, over the last few years and have always been impressed with the performance.

by:
2008 Toyota Tacoma

Realized that this install will be difficult, after ordering. No online tutorials for the 2nd-gen Tacomas on how to actually get at the bolt that holds the stock unit in place. I can barely feel it. let alone get a socket on it. I suppose if I had a lift it might be easier, but it would have been nice to have some warning about this. I also ordered the rear units and they are straightforward with plenty of videos.

I'm sure I will eventually get this on somehow, maybe by hiring my local garage. Argh.

Excellent product

2012 Toyota Tacoma

Jack the truck up; simple to install, I used thread lock (red) for safety. The only problem I had was the lower control arm of my '12 Tacoma obstructed my the use a 8 mm hex wrench to tighten it past hand tight.

by:
2012 Toyota Tacoma

Work great with a little extra weight on the front end. Easy to install... out with the old in with the new.

I have to say that e-trailer has the best customer service I have ever experienced buying on line. From the time I ordered they kept me updated on the status and that made the experiance worth it.

  • Will Timbren Suspension Enhancement for a 2014 Toyota Tacoma Add Additional Ride Height
The Timbren kit part # TTOFTUN4 is not designed to provide your 2014 Toyota Tacoma with additional suspension height. It will help prevent sag when the vehicle is loaded but otherwise the ride height would not be increased.

  • Will Timbren Suspension Enhancement Reduce Wear on Shocks on a 2001 Toyota Tundra
Timbren systems are designed to absorb road shock which does increase the life of the factory suspension. You will want to first make sure that the suspension is in good working order before installing and using the Front Suspension system, # TTOFTUN4. You can see in the instructions I have linked for you how the system will be effective in taking up the shock based on its position. The Timbren system has a limited lifetime warranty so I would not worry about the longevity of the product....

The Detail K2 Snowplow and Custom Mounting Bracket Kit for Detail K2 Snowplows that I recommend for a 2017 Toyota Tundra is the Storm II part # K2STOR8422 and Storm II Brackets part # K285113. The Storm II is an excellent option because it has a very large 84" wide blade for increased plowing capability, a 3 position adjustable blade for full control of the plow, and a wireless in-cab controller for ease of use. The Storm II Brackets are a custom bolt-on fit for the Tundra so no drilling...

If you check out the linked installation details for the Timbren Front Suspension Enhancement System # TTOFTUN4 that you referenced you will note that they say to remove the rearmost bump stop (for the front suspension). • Does 2007 Toyota Tundra Need Suspension Replaced When Installing Suspension Enhancement
If the suspension is in good working order then you would not need to replace it, but you should note that our suspension kits do require suspension on the vehicle to be in perfect working order and cannot be used as a band aid for worn out components. The part # TTOFTUN4 is a fit for your front axle and then the part # F2445 is a fit for the rear.

To mount the Detail K2 Rampage II Snowplow # K2RAMP8219 on your 1999 Toyota Tacoma 4X4 you will need the appropriate installation kit. That bracket kit part is # K285120. Very often trucks that have a snow plow installed will benefit from some front-end suspension support to help offset the load from the plow's weight. Since the Rampage weighs in at 265-lbs you will certainly notice the stability benefits from a set of front jounce springs. A kit like Timbren's # TTOFTUN4 will bolt on...

  • Recommended Front Suspension Enhancement Product for 2000 Toyota Tundra
For the front suspension of your 2000 Toyota Tundra, I would recommend the Timbren # TTOFTUN4. The Timbren Aeon hollow rubber springs help eliminate front end sag caused by snow plows or other heavy front end loads. The Timbren system is designed to replace the factory bump stops. Unfortunately, Firestone does not have a similar item compatible with your truck. Yes, the difference between the Detail K2 Snowplow # K2AVAL8422 and Detail K2 Elite Snowplow # K2AVAL8422ELT is the Elite has the electric actuator over the winch. The Elite also uses a chain connection to the blade while the basic K2 has a strap that is more likely to become damaged. The electric actuator is superior to the winch.
