The air springs and jounce springs in this system work together to give you the best ride whether your truck is loaded or unloaded. Air Lift's LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate air springs have internal urethane foam jounces that protect the air springs and provide added ride comfort when your air pressure is low. The jounces also allow you to temporarily carry a load if the air springs lose air pressure. This gives your 3/4- or 1-ton pickup, motor home, or commercial truck air springs that are easier to maintain.
Carrying heavy cargo in your truck bed or trailer puts extra stress on your truck. Your brakes erode faster, your tires wear unevenly, and handling suffers severely. When towing, you might also experience excessive sway, bottoming out, and even inaccurate and unsafe headlight aim.
By pairing your existing suspension with LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate air springs, you can seriously beef up your suspension, ensure equal load distribution, and get the support you need. The springs provide up to 5,000 lbs of load-leveling capacity (depending on the weight-carrying capacity of your vehicle) and distribute the weight of your payload to all 4 wheels. As a result, the stress on your factory suspension is significantly reduced. LoadLifter's air bags are adjustable from 5 to 100 psi for precise support, and they can be inflated equally for front-to-back leveling or independently of one another for side-to-side leveling.
The air springs are made of high-quality, 2-ply, fabric-reinforced rubber. Most air bags lose air at the ends where the bag is enclosed with steel caps. These caps can rust and corrode over time, creating small holes. But the endcaps on Air Lift air bags are fashioned from corrosion-proof Zytel nylon, a material that is both stronger and lighter than steel, ensuring that the air bags won't lose air.
The air bags also have Air Lift's exclusive roll plates, which protect the air springs and beef up their load capacity. These sturdy plates help guard the springs from moving parts under your vehicle that might puncture the air bags. The plates also provide a larger surface area for each spring to roll on. The extra surface area gives you a higher spring rate at a lower air pressure, resulting in a better ride.
The closed-cell urethane jounce spring inside each air spring gives you a more stable, comfortable ride. Each jounce acts as an overload spring and engages when your current air pressure level isn't enough to support your load. So on a rough road, the springs will kick in if needed to absorb bumps and shocks and help you to avoid bottoming out. When the jounces support a load, they adjust progressively - the more weight you pile on, the stiffer they become. The urethane material engages more smoothly than rubber jounces so you get a less jerky ride.
Because these jounces are taller than your factory jounce bumpers, they engage sooner than your factory jounces would to provide better support. And if the LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate air springs have insufficient or zero air pressure, the internal jounces will help to temporarily support your suspension and protect it from damage until you can repair or adjust the air spring system.
This system installs with the included brackets and hardware. Just mount the springs, inflate them, and ride. To inflate the LoadLifter springs, you just have to pump in air through the inflation valves. A line kit is included with the springs so that you can install the manual inflation valves (1 for each spring). These are typically mounted on the bumper but can be installed anywhere that is easily accessible. If you want to make the springs even easier to use, you can get a compressor and gauge system (sold separately) that allows you to monitor and adjust the springs from the cab of your truck.

Jounces also work as a fail-safe if air springs lose pressure.My wife and I did the install in 3hr 55min. We stopped a lot to double check our work and check the instructions. A couple minor things there. Tighten the large washer at the start. It's easier than trying to tighten it later. And the picture shows the washer is tight and against the edge of the lower strike plate but the instructions don't agree. We followed the picture.
We brought the schrader valve up to the fuel compartment. Used a few extra zip ties to help maintain the curves in the air line. Made a short run to our dump, almost 10 miles round trip. I'll inspect it tomorrow and retighten everything. In 4 days we'll take the camper for a short trip. A shake down of sort.
They were easy for any handy guy to install . It took about 2 hrs. They lifted my 2500 ram to sit level with my 37ft. 5th wheel. I even leave them as is, when I'm not hooked up, and don't notice a difference. I ran two separate lines to near my rear license plate, no compressor. I'm glad I didn't spend that extra money. You rarely change the pressure, and it's so easy to do.

Product was delivered quickly. Took about 1 1/2 to install these air bags. The instructions were very helpful and precise. Ran the air fittings out at bottom of bumper in the black trim next to hitch. I have had these on for about 3 weeks and just went camping. The bags help keep my 40’ travel trailer riding smoothly and gave the support that was needed being that my camper is tongue heavy. Would definitely recommend these bags. I would also recommend etrailer because they was very helpful with my questions and got the product out quick.
easy to install and seems to be good quality. Good product for the price. Recommend buying a T for the airline to have 1 fill valve instead of 2.
Enjoyed the assembly and installation process, attempted to install via under the truck as seen in the videos. However found it much easier to remove the tires which provided more than acceptable access especially around the brake lines and tire sensors. Was able to route the air lines through the frame and looped the excess behind the bumper. I choose not to drill into the bumper or mount the air line into the trailer hitch and tucked the fill port behind the bumper. When needed will reach up and pull the fill port down to fill or deflate the air bags.
Great addition to the power wagon
Install on my 2500 Ram went smooth didn’t have to remove the wheels just elevated the bed. A necessary screw was damaged during manufacturing etrailer had it mailed to me in thee days. No leaks nice lid level, pressure is maintained on losses in air. etrailer helped me find the right wireless compressor the air lifts work system is working great.
No issues. Working as advertised.
They got here today and got them installed in 1 hour now I just need to test them out towing the camper
I have used and ordered many wonderful items from etrailer through the years with great results but this last order was just not shipped correctly, who in their right mind puts 2 big heavy separate items in a giant box with several small fragile electronics items and ships them with no packing of any type. The heavy items were Rock Tamers mud flaps and airlift 5000 air bag system. The fragile items were a 30 amp surge protector and the replacement fuse. Please do better.
The product performs as advertised. Levels tow vehicle underload, stabilizes and improves ride quality.

Performs as expected. Easy to keep truck level with heavier loads making it stable while driving especially at freeway speeds with a 5th wheel trailer.
Second set of these Airbags I have put on a truck. All I can say is that there is a reason they don't show you the passenger side installation, as it is much harder to get the bags inserted on the passenger side. I did the installation in a gravel lot and only had a small hydrophilic floor jack that I was able to set on orange trailer leveling blocks to get the additional height I needed. I jacked the truck up from the hitch and used a jack stand and the floor jack to hold it in place. I was able to get the necessary separation without ever having the wheels leave the ground. Sounds a little sketchy but after I set it up this way gave it a good push from the tailgate and the sides of the truck and there was no movement at all....I'm an old guy that doesn't take many chances.
One tip if you do it this way....don't waist time trying to work from below like they are doing in the video. You do have to be under the truck to get the bags into place and get that first bolt started. But you can put the second bolt and nut on and tighten them up by accessing it from the side, as the top mounting plates are above the tire level at that point. It is much easier to work, when you can see what you are doing.

These continue to work flawlessly and my primary use is to give me some adjustability while towing our Airstream trailer. We have it paired with the wireless compressor and can add air on the fly while towing.
Very quick delivery and parts fit perfe ctly.
Great product easy to install and follow pictures instructions.
I have a work truck with a heavy utility body that has really stressed the rear suspension. Put these on my truck, install was easy and didn't take very long. My truck immediately drives like it did when it was new. Great breaking, no more roll and a much stiffer ride, plus my headlights are back in the right alignment.

These air bags have been great. A year of constant load driven on highway and 4x4 roads and no problems. Only added air once. I would highly recomend!

The product is awesome. While filling the airbags with a portable pump isn’t a big deal, I would really like an onboard pump and a switch in the cab to turn on. But I am not going to do that.

Etrailer did an excellent job through the ordering process and delivery.
The air bags are working great. We tow a number of different trailers including 5th wheel campers and they level out the different loads nicely.
The reason I gave a 4 instead of 5 is that I installed Firestone air bags on our old Ram 2500 some years ago. The directions were much easier to follow than these Load Lifter bags.
Install was easy! Fit right up now drilling. keep in mind that if you live in a cold environment, you may need air brake anti-freeze in the bags, I didn't catch this until after installation and it was a bit tougher to do after the fact. The directions to add the anti-freeze was actually in the Wireless Air Compressor instructions. All this went on my 2016 Ram 2500 Crew Cab 6' 4" bed. Overall, I am very pleased!
This product was easy to install and did exactly as it had advertised. When I wasn’t towing with it I generally kept about 5-8lbs of air pressure in the system and it never lost pressure. I would highly recommend this kit.
Too early to tell. Just installed. Look way better built than my last pickup which I used Firestone Ride Rites. Didnt like the bouncing without internal jounce bumpers. Install was about 2 1/2 hours and pretty straight forward if you keep the plates oriented correctly. Only giving 4 stars because they want a review but have yet to use them. Wanted the plus version but backordered until who knows when. etrailer swapped my order quickly and received these in 3 days. Still awaiting a refund.
The video on etrailer.com site was very helpful. Some comments with lower stars stated the left side was the most difficult, I disagree. Take your tires off while supporting the axle along with lifting the body makes the install much easier.

Im very happy with the air bags. I rv full time, so I tow a 14,000lb 5th wheel. The bags keep my 34ton truck level. The bags dont have much if any effect on the ride. Id buy them again
