This custom lock is perfect for use with tonneau covers and camper shells.I have a 2009 dodge ram 1500 4x4, this lock didn't fit perfectly, I had to remove the inner panel of my tailgate and drill holes to accept the tabs on the lock, so it took a little more time than expected, but it works perfectly, in fact I think it is more secure than standard.
I received the new lock faster than was expecting.The pop&lock was very easy to replace.Just popped out the old lock and popped in the new one .I had to take the handle off and take it inside because it is cold here.No problem very easy to take off. here is pic of the old and the new.

Yes its been a year and i am still very happy with the lock.I put my groceries in the truck bed and lock it for my next stop with no worry.I still recommend it for anyone wanting to lock the tail gate
I installed it in about a minute on a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500. Works great and would recommend this product. There is no way to pull it off once it's locked in, you would have to take the access cover off the tailgate. The only thing you have to do after you install it is to take a flat head screwdriver to pick up the lock a little bit to get the tape off. I would recommend tweezers to peal it off.

Works as advertised
So far it works great. I would be interested in a remote operated electric lock tailgate lick with a backup camera if available for a 2006 Dodge Ram pickup.
The lock fits and works perfectly. The only issue I have is that the instructions say to fit the lock, the remove the covering to the adhesive strip on the back. The problem is when you fit the lock you cannot get the strip off the back of the adhesive pad and the lock will not back out. Take the Adhesive off first. Otherwise, a fantastic product. I have already recommended this to another Dodge owner.
I bought a til gate lock and a bed mat for my Ram 1500, I have found a perfect place for my truck I recommend Etrailer to anybody who has a pick up truck
