Jeff: Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at these Warm White Directional 194, 906, 921 LED bulbs with the wedge base. And it is for a quantity of two bolts. Now these are LED flat bulbs, which will upgrade or replace the 194 and 906 and the 921 light bulbs to provide nice warm white lighting. These are great for top mount or overhead applications.
They are a directional design, they'll provide 180 degree focus lighting. They are a 12 volt bulb, has many applications for your RV, your trailer, your boat, or your vehicle. And they do use LEDs. These LEDs make great replacements for incandescent bulbs because they're rated up for up to 50,000 hours. They are more efficient.
They'll provide brighter light with less power output and of course no bulbs to replace, no brittle filaments to break.Now at the end of this video, I am going to hook this up to some 12 volt power just to show you how bright they are. These bulbs are compatible with dimmable fixtures for a nice, simple adjustment of light brightness. They do offer a built-in surge protection to safeguard your internal electronics. And as I mentioned, it is a wedge base. It's designed to mount into a compatible fixture and it is a non-polarized design for easy installation.
You don't have to worry about what way to install it. You can put it in that way, put it in that way, either way you put it in, it will light up. It is for a quantity of two flat bulbs.The width on these bulbs they're one and seven eighths inches wide. The height of them once they're plugged in is going to be about two inches. Tall light output is 180 lumens.
We mentioned the bulb type they'll replace a 194, 906 and 921 bulbs. They are wedge based design, warm white color. Color temperature is 3,500 Kelvin. They are 18 LEDs per bulb. The wattage is 1.5 Watts and they are designed to replace up to a 20 watt halogen bulb. Power draw at 12 volts is 0.125 amps.What I want to do now is we're going to hook this up to some power and I'll turn off the lights just to show you how bright they are.Let's go ahead and hook up one side to the power. And then the other side, we're going to hook up to the ground. You can see when I hooked those up. Here we go. Gives you a nice bright LED light. Then we'll go ahead and turn off our overhead light and there you can see the warm white color. And again, you can see the 180 degree focused lighting and the 18 LEDs. Very bright light. Go ahead and turn back on our overhead, go and turn off our power.But that should do it for the review on the Warm White Directional 194, 906, 921 LED bulbs with the wedge base for a quantity of two bulbs.

Right size and shape but actual wedge base connector is very thin in comparison to the one I am replacing. It barely makes contact when inserted and if there wasn’t a screw to hold it in it would slip out

These appear to be a well made, durable, scratch resistant circuit boards with SMD (surface mount) LEDs and epoxy covered "wire" traces. The mounting hole and contact plug were perfectly spaced. Easy replacement. Nice; I like easy.

I gave these LEDs only one STAR to get your attention. The light from these LEDs is great. I used the 180Lms for the living area and the 165Lms in the bedroom. Please read on…
For me these were NOT a simple replacement for the halogen 12v bulbs in my light fixtures (2016 RV). Unlike other replacement bulbs, I found on [online] and elsewhere, the wedge base does not match those of the 194, 906, 921 bulbs. Initially once installed these LEDs fell out of the socket and would not light unless held in place. The Teck at etrailer suggested I bend the contact in the lamp socket to better hold the new LED. I found this minimally effective and most of the time did not accomplish a satisfactory installation: most LEDs still did not light. In one case I even resorted to using double-back foam mounting tape to help hold the LED in. That worked better, but not well. My final solution was to install small strips of flattened copper wire at the contact points to duplicate the .092 inch thickness of the original halogen bulb (LED base thickness was only .065). The wire strips were epoxied to the back side. This provided a near perfect fit and good electrical contact.

Prefect replacement - Physical fit and lumen output - for what is in our Airstream trailer. The originals burned out fast (for leds - bad engineering?) These are warranted for 5 years. Time will tell how well they last. Right now they are great.
