product from Pollak is always great but they packed it with steel couplers and destroyed it

No issues at all.

2004 Nissan Titan

The 3 star rating is because this is not a direct replacement for a Nissan Armada. I bought this to replace the original socket on a 2004 Nissan armada. The hitch on the car says it is a Nissan hitch. I did not notice that the original socket mounted as a twist lock type and the bracket had no mounting screws when I ordered this socket. In defense of the manufacture and distributor of this socket the description did not say it was a direct replacement for an armada the assumption would be that the hitch would be the same as a titan. This was no big deal for me since I had a drill and bits to drill mounting holes and used # 8 sheet metal screws. Just have to be careful to drill the holes the right size so they self thread properly. I have been looking to see if there is a direct replacement for the original socket but can't seem to find one not even on Nissan's parts web site so I guess you just have to do what I did. I didn't think to take a video of the installation but I have included a picture of the finished install.

Worked out awesome. I bought this for a buddy for his used truck. The previous owners for what ever reason took it. Plugged it in and worked flawlessly.

This is it!! If you have a Porsche Cayenne with a tow package (mine's a 2017) and you're wondering why the wiring "connector" that came from the factory is just a plate with nothing to plug in to... This is the thing you need! It fits the holes in the mounting bracket perfectly and plugs right into the harness coming out of the car (after you carefully release the little clip holding the clip connecting the plate to the harness (no, that's not a typo). I also purchased a matching 7 to 4-pin adapter, so I can easily connect to either. And etrailer had it all... and made it easy. Quick shipping, just as promised. Love e-Trailer! :)

I had to replace the socket in my truck after I forgot to disconnect the plug when setting up my camper 1 year ago. Since then, I've connected the camper 35 times and pulled it over 6,000 miles. I have had no issues at all with the new socket.

by:

It fit right up to my 2016 Porsche Cayenne diesel. A very simple installation.

It fit perfect and was literally plug and play.

2000 Toyota Tundra

Hi, I am a ASE Certified Automotive technician for 30-plus years. I have to say these parts are Factory quality, the option for Direct Fit everything plugs right into the wiring harnesses fits as if they came as original equipment with the vehicle and the same quality. When ordering parts if you call and speak to an operator that extremely helpful and actually know what's going on. And their tech support this extremely knowledgeable.

1995 Ford F-250 Super Duty

After redoing my trailer wiring harness to put a socket in the bed of my 1995 F250, I used this to replace the old socket in my bumper. Saved me having to do more splicing and hard wiring in the old socket.

After a year of use, this is still working great. I don’t use it a lot as most of my towing is of the 5th wheel using the in-bed connector.

by:
2008 Porsche Cayenne

This is the original plug and play. For VW SUV's this does the trick. I recommend using some anti-seize on the bolts that secure this into the mount. I have this on both an Audi and a Porsche both work great. The picture shows what the car some with so you simply plug this unit into the factory socket and secure with 4 machine screws.

by:

Nice fit to my factory harness. This was a replacement for the factory hitch mount. I decided to drill a hole and mount in the bumper like I’ve seen on other vehicles. This makes for a convenient and protected location.

by:
2015 Audi Q7

The right adapter, fits Audi q7 factory tow package. 1/3 the price of Audi part. Fast shipping, etrailer is the place for reasonably priced trailer parts.
Thanks George

  • Parts Needed to Install Second 7-Way in Bed of Truck Towing Fifth Wheel
For a 7-way to install in the bed of your truck to make connecting your trailer lights easier you would want the part # 41157. Most 7-ways will be at the rear of the truck near the bumper which doesn't work will with fifth wheel hitches. This kit installs in line with the 7-way at the rear of your truck and gives you a second one to install in the bed. Which if you are in need of as well you would want the part # PK11998 and # PK11893. I attached an install video for more info as well.

  • Adding 4- to 7-Way Adapters on a 2000 Toyota Tundra and 2013 Toyota Sienna with 4-Ways
Adapter # 47405 is probably not the adapter you need. It would plug into a 7-Way round pin connector on the tow vehicle and allow you to plug in a trailer that has a 4-Way flat connector. Since both of your tow vehicles have a 4-Way flat you will need different adapters. Also, there are 2 kids of 7-Way connectors. One has round pins like # PK11720 and the other, much more common and probably what the trailer will plug into, is a blade style like # PK11893. If the trailer has a 7-Way then...

  • How to Power an Interior Truck Cap Light on a 2002 GMC Sierra 4x4
You have a number of options to power an interior light on your truck bed cap. You could use the 12-volt power wire going to the trailer connector on your truck as a power source. I recommend installing a switch to turn the light on and off when needed, unless the light comes with a switch. Another option would be to run the wire from the cap light directly to the vehicle battery. Again, I recommend installing a switch if you do not already have one, so the light does not stay on all the...

There are a couple of things you can do. First, tell me the year, make, and model of the truck and I can try to find a wire that you can use and where it is located. Or you could power the camper shell dome light directly from the vehicle battery via a switch such as # PK34513. Easiest way would be to test the wires that run to the assemblies and then once you find the one that carries the stoplight circuit with a tester like part # PTW2993 use a quick splice like # SWC501746-1 to tap into it. The best way to determine the function of any wire is to use a circuit tester such as # PTW2993 to test wire functions.
