Specs:
The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The housing and lens are sonically sealed together to create a single unit, which means that water will not get into the light and damage the diodes or circuit board.
A PC-rated light produces a 90-degree angle of light to either side of its centerline for a total of 180 degrees of coverage. This beam pattern can be clearly seen when you are standing directly in front of the light, as well as when you are standing on either side of the light. When properly installed, this type of light can function as both a front clearance light and a side marker light or as a rear clearance light and side marker light.
Recessed-mount trailer lights install with a grommet, which is often sold separately. These lights extend past the trailer surface and require a hole for installation. If replacing a light, you can utilize the pre-existing hole. If installing a new light, you will need to cut a hole or use a mounting bracket (sold separately) to complete the installation.

Jeff: Hello, everybody. This is Jeff @ etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at this Uni-Lite round LED clearance and side marker light with the grommet and the red lens. Now, this is a nice small round LED trailer light that'll serve as a side marker and clearance light when it's properly mounted. It has a sonically sealed waterproof housing and lens unit, which makes it submersible. Does use an LED and it'll make a great replacement for the incandescent lights.
LEDs last about 50 times longer. They're more efficient because they'll provide brighter light with less power output. And of course no bulbs to replace, no brittle filaments to break. And these do have a limited lifetime warranty on the LEDs. It is a durable polycarbonate lens and housing. It's a red lens with one red LED.
Now this light is compatible with 12 volt and 24 volt DC systems. Now for demonstration of how bright the light is at the end of this video, I am going to hook it up to some 12 volt power to show you. It is a recessed mount, and it includes this black PVC grommet. Now, when you do install this, it will require 11/16 inch diameter hole for installation. If you notice it's a two wire pigtail and includes both the power lead and the ground wire. This light is DOT, Department of Transportation compliant.
It does meet the Federal Motor Vehicle safety standards 108 and the Canadian Motor Vehicle safety standard requirements for automotive lighting. This is PC rated.A few dimensions on this. The diameter on the light itself is going to be right at three quarters of an inch. Total length on it is about 15/16 of an inch. And as I mentioned, the grommet diameter is 11/16 of an inch.
Power draw at 12.8 volts, and this is 0.052 amps. So what we're going to do is go ahead and hook some power up. Our ground and black should be our power. And turn on our 12 volt power and you can see the light comes on. Go ahead and turn off our overhead light, and you can see that one single LED gives off a nice bright light and turn back on overhead light. Turn off our power. But that should do it for the review on this Uni-Lite round LED clearance and side marker light with the grommet and the red lens.
