Hidden Cross Tube for a Clean, Factory Look

The EcoHitch Hidden trailer hitch is designed to be as inconspicuous as possible. The hitch's cross tube bolts onto your vehicle's frame, behind your rear bumper. No drilling or welding is required. Once the hitch is installed, only the receiver will be visible beneath your bumper. This means that your vehicle can maintain its stylish, from-the-factory look, and you won't have to do any major modifications to its body or frame.

Eco-Friendly Material

With a combination of aerospace-grade aluminum, steel, and stainless steel, each EcoHitch is made of a strong metal alloy that will withstand the test of time. The lightweight alloy is composed of recycled materials. Traditional steel hitch manufacturing can use coal or oil, which can contribute to harmful gas emissions. The EcoHitch's recycled materials limit the carbon footprint during manufacturing, so you get a sturdy trailer hitch while also helping the environment.

Rigorous Strength Testing Ensures Durability

This EcoHitch trailer hitch is tested for durability and sturdiness. Using Finite Elemental Analysis (FEA), individual points of stress on the hitch can be detected and remedied. Designers can accurately test the hitch to ensure that it will meet or exceed SAE J684 standards. The EcoHitch Hidden trailer hitch is carefully researched and strength tested for a durable, high-quality hitch that can resist damage while on the road.

Very sturdy hitch. I installed it solo on my 2014 Mazda 3 sedan in 1-½ hours. The written instructions were accurate and complete. The crossbar is completely hidden making for an attractive installation. Ground clearance (bottom of receiver to ground) is a bit skinny at 9-½ inches; but that's because of the car's low clearance. The distance from hitch pin to the rear of the bumper is approximately 5 inches.

One year and still working great!

Very easy to install and I like the look of only the receiver showing. I have done other hitches that required removal of the rear plastic bumper, a delicate task. This hitch does not. An easy hour job but an assistant is very useful so you can slowly guide the hitch up to the frame without dislodging the bolts that will attach it.

Works well for my needs. I attach a platform for hauling a motorized wheelchair. It works well on our little mazda car.

by:

Great hitch, gives my small car so many more options when carrying bikes and cargo. Install wasn't hard but it was involved because you had to remove the rear bumper. But I'm happy with the low profile so you won't notice it when nothing is on the hitch.

PS removing the bumper is easy, it's just screw and clips just read the instructions since there is pictures and anyone can do it.

Great product. I’ve towed a 1500lb trailer a couple of times over 150 miles one way with no issues. Also it doubles as a sturdy bike rack holder.

Fast delivery, easy return of an incorrect order and a solid looking product. Just make sure you order the X7303 version if you have the Mazda 3 sedan.

Delivery was on time. Fits nicely on my 2017 Mazda 3. it is good to install it with 2 people. Basically installation was as described in the videos but if you are installing it the first time it takes more time and reassurance of each step.

Worked out great. I'm not the most skilled auto guy and put this on with the help of my wife in less than 90 minutes. Thanks so much.

  • What Class Hitch is the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver for 2018 Mazda 3?
The EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" # 306-X7303 based on capacity is comparable to a class II hitch. It does have the 2 inch receiver for compatible accessories similar to the class III and higher hitches but the max tongue weight for this particular hitch is 300 lbs. It can use those larger accessories you will just be restricted to 300 lbs tongue weight.

  • Does EcoHitch 306-X7303 Fit 2016 and 2018 Mazda 3 Sedan

  • Will the EcoHitch 306-X7303 Hit the Ground Once Installed on a 2017 Mazda 3?
I have not heard of anyone having any issues with the hitch bottoming out after installing the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7303. We have not done any installs with this hitch as of yet, so we do not have measurement of it installed, unfortunately. However, with this being a hidden style hitch, it will only be the receiver tube that is exposed. With all that being said, if a driveway is steep, then there will be the possibility of the hitch scraping. There should be absolutely...

  • Can A 2017 Mazda 3 Handle The Tongue Weight From An E-Bike
The owner's manual for a 2017 Mazda 3 does state not to tow a trailer and has nothing about the tongue weight capacity of the vehicle, but instead talks about not overloading vehicle with cargo. You should see a sticker in the door frame with "The combination of weight of occupants and cargo should never exceed XXX kg or XXX lbs so you'll just want to remain under this capacity. Realistically you're only adding an extra 20-30lbs to the hitch/bike rack and shouldn't have an issue unless...

  • Installing a Trailer Hitch on a 2016 Mazda 3 Sedan
Though I can confirm the EcoHitch # 306-X7303 will absolutely fit a 2016 Mazda 3, we have yet to do an install with said hitch. However, we do have an install we did with a Draw-Tite # 24912 on a 2015 Mazda 3. There will be a few subtle differences, but they do attach the same way. I included that video for you to take a look at.

  • Will A Hitch Void the Warranty Of My 2018 Mazda 3 Grand Touring and Which Hitch is Recommended
The act of installing a hitch on the 2018 Mazda 3 Grand Touring will not void the warranty because you are covered under the Magnuson–Moss warranty act which prohibits manufacturers from voiding a warranty for adding aftermarket parts unless that after market part caused damage the vehicle. With that said, if Mazda does not recommend towing anything with the Mazda 3 Grand Touring (more than likely they mention it in the owners manual) if towing damages the transmission or any other mechanical...

  • Correct EcoHitch Trailer Hitch for a 2014 Mazda 3 Hatchback
Thanks for reaching out, Mark! Since your 2014 Mazda 3 is a Hatchback you'll need the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7305. The alternative hitch, part # 306-X7303, is only a fit for the Sedan version of your vehicle so it won't even fit your Hatchback. If you don't already have a bike rack I highly recommend checking out the Kuat NV 2.0 Base # BA22B because it's super durable and is extremely easy to use. On top of that it looks pretty sweet and a lot of people end up leaving...

  • Can 2016 Mazda 3 Be Used to Carry a 160 lb Minibike
The EcoHitch Class II hitches for your 2016 Mazda 3, part # 306-X7305 for a hatchback or part # 306-X7303 for a sedan, will technically fit with the Ultra-Fab Dirt Bike Carrier for 2" Hitches # UF48-979033 and the weight of the carrier plus your bike will be under the 300 lb tongue weight rating, but this carrier is also rated for a Class III hitch so it isn't advisable. • What Is The Best Way To Remove Bolts Installed Inside The Frame Using A Fish Wire?
Removing bolts installed using a fish wire is tricky but it can be done. The best way to remove the hardware from the frame is to use a flexible magnet, and pull the bolts out of the frame. Fish wires can help with this also. You will need a fish wire for a 1/2" bolt like part # C58400. Since the EcoHitch # 306-X7303 is rated for more weight than the curt hitch, it is a very good idea to remove the old bolts, and use the new hardware that comes with the EcoHitch.

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver and E-Bike Rack For 2017 Mazda 3 Sedan
For your 2017 Mazda 3 Sedan I recommend the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" # 306-X7303 due to it having a 2" trailer hitch receiver which offers quite a few more options when it comes to bike racks and other accessories. The other two trailer hitch receivers available, the Curt # C11377 and Draw-Tite # 24912, are Class I receivers with 1-1/4" receivers which really limits the bike racks available as not all 1-1/4" bike racks work with Class I receivers.
