What Is The Best Way To Remove Bolts Installed Inside The Frame Using A Fish Wire?

Question:

Hi, I currently have the Curt 1-1/4inch C11377 hitch installed in my 2017 mazda 3 hatchback and I am looking to swap it out to the 2inch eco hitch. During the installation of the curt 1-1/4inch hitch, had to use fish two bolts on each side into a hallow frame using the included fishing wire. 1. Is there a trick for getting them out and removing them for the uninstall? 2. Do you know what size the fish wire, I have since lost them and suspect they might be helpful in removing. Thanks,

Removing bolts installed using a fish wire is tricky but it can be done. The best way to remove the hardware from the frame is to use a flexible magnet, and pull the bolts out of the frame. Fish wires can help with this also. You will need a fish wire for a 1/2" bolt like part # C58400.

Since the EcoHitch # 306-X7303 is rated for more weight than the curt hitch, it is a very good idea to remove the old bolts, and use the new hardware that comes with the EcoHitch.
