Hidden Cross Tube for a Clean, Factory Look

The EcoHitch Hidden trailer hitch is designed to be as inconspicuous as possible. The hitch's cross tube bolts onto your vehicle's frame, behind your rear bumper. No drilling or welding is required. Once the hitch is installed, only the receiver will be visible beneath your bumper. This means that your vehicle can maintain its stylish, from-the-factory look, and you won't have to do any major modifications to its body or frame.

Eco-Friendly Material

With a combination of aerospace-grade aluminum, steel, and stainless steel, each EcoHitch is made of a strong metal alloy that will stand the test of time. The lightweight alloy is composed of recycled materials. Traditional steel hitch manufacturing can use coal or oil, which can contribute to harmful gas emissions. The EcoHitch's recycled materials limit the carbon footprint during manufacturing, so you get a sturdy trailer hitch while also helping the environment.

Rigorous Strength Testing Ensures Durability

This EcoHitch trailer hitch is tested for durability and sturdiness. Using Finite Elemental Analysis (FEA), individual points of stress on the hitch can be detected and remedied. Designers can accurately test the hitch to ensure that it will meet or exceed SAE J684 standards. The EcoHitch Stealth trailer hitch is carefully researched and strength tested for a durable, high-quality hitch that can resist damage while on the road.

Delivery prompt, installation straight forward, the fit is perfect. I would make the cut depth a 1/4” deeper in the bumper (8-1/2”). I will pull the bumper to recut to allow the push pin bracket holes to align with their brackets. Install time ~3hrs (not including redo on bumper cut)

Item arrived in excellent shape. Installed on a 2009 CRV. I had a body shop do the install since they have lots of experience with bumper covers. They said it was easy except that they had to tap the holes for the bolts due to 10 years of corrosion and contaminants. Took a few hours to complete. Rock solid and looks as good as you can expect for an aftermarket hitch. Would purchase again.

After a year, I’m still happy with this hitch. It’s been used to carry our mountain bikes and to pull our dirt bike trailer. It was a good purchase.

I purchased this primarily for use with a bike rack on my 2008 CRV. I haven't had the chance to tow anything with this yet, but the purchasing, shipping and install experience so far have been great.

I ordered the product late at night on a Friday, and by the time I awoke on Saturday I had already received an (automated) order confirmation, notification that the order had been processed and sent to the warehouse, and that the package was on its way.

The trailer hitch arrived in a hefty cardboard box, secured on the inside with more thick card bard and large staples. I for one can't think of a better way to ship a large and heavy product.

Install instructions were adequate, and videos from the manufacturer helped a little. I was able to install this by my self, but having a second person to help lift it in place is probably a better idea than going solo. The hardest part was getting the hidden tabs and clips on the vehicle to disengage to remove parts so this could be installed. I didn't need to tap the holes on the 12 year old car, but I also don't live in a high corrosion area (i.e., near the ocean).

You can’t beat the clean look of this receiver. No visible bar makes it look like it like it was from the manufacture. Easy to install. Take the time to clean out the threads of rust. I didn’t cut enough plastic the first try, had to remove bummer again and cut more (do why they say), took me an additional 10min. No strength issues yet. The vehicle is the limiting factor. 4 bikes with 2 being electric motor bikes is a really big moment.
Stop shopping. Buy it and use it.

Arrived earlier than promised. Installed under my carport in two hours. Looks like a oem factory option. Screwed right on to existing places on frame. Very pleased.

The hitch still works great. I recommend buying the thing that fits in the hitch receiver with the hitch. I had one from another source when I bought the hitch and it fits a little too loosely

by:

I wish I knew it required trimming of bumper before I purchased it I would of rather bought one that didn't require trimming but other then that it gets the job done

  • Trailer Hitch Weight for a 2011 Honda CR-V
I'd be happy to help! All of the hitches for your 2011 Honda CR-V weigh relatively the same when it comes to the different classes, and while the Class I hitches definitely weight lighter I recommend using a Class III hitch since they have a 2" receiver and can handle a wider variety of accessories. Out of the hitches listed below I recommend the Draw-Tite Hitch # 75547 since it's a Class III hitch with a weight of about 27 lbs. Here are the rest of the hitches: Class I Draw-Tite -...

  • Which 2 Inch Trailer Hitch for 2007 Honda CR-V
I'd be happy to help you with that. If you're the type of person that doesn't care for the appearance of a trailer hitch, a mostly-concealed hitch like the EcoHitch # 306-X7291 is what I'd recommend. The only visible portion of the hitch will be the receiver opening and the loops for the safety chains. The remainder of the hitch will be concealed by the bumper. If the appearance of a hitch installed on your vehicle doesn't bother you and you'd like something at a more reasonable price...

  • Recommended 2011 Honda CR-V Parts for Towing a Trailer
I recommend installing the following on your 2011 Honda CR-V to get it setup for towing: - EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7291 - Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness # HM11143145 - Mounting Brackets # 18136 and # 18144 - Curt Towing Starter Kit # C45534 The EcoHitch is my favorite trailer hitch for your CR-V because it's the only option with a hidden crosstube. This gives you a great looking hitch but also promotes better ground clearance since only the receiver...

  • Best Trailer Hitch for Ground Clearance on 2008 Honda CR-V
If ground clearance is your main concern the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7291 is absolutely the best choice for your 2008 Honda CR-V. This is because unlike the other options available, which sit completely beneath the rear bumper, this unit actually protrudes a bit THROUGH the rear fascia allowing only a portion of the receiver to actually sit below it. I have attached an image a customer submitted of the hitch installed on their 2009 CR-V so you can get a better picture...

  • Installation Instructions for EcoHitch Hidden Hitch 306-X7291 On a 2008 Honda CR-V
I have attached the installation instructions of the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 306-X7291 for a 2008 Honda CR-V to this answer page for you. In regards to installation, this is a bolt-on fit with a very clean finished install look. It has a hidden crosstube so you only see the receiver tube once installed. Please note, you do need to trim the rear bumper fascia for installation but this is because of the hidden design. If you don't want to trim then I recommend the Draw-Tite...

  • Recommendation for Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver for 2011 Honda CR-V
A Class II hitch would use a 1-1/4 inch receiver, for a 2 inch receiver tube you'd want a Class III hitch. We offer two US Made Class III hitches that I'd recommend, the # 13555 from Curt or the # 306-X7291 from EcoHitch. Both hitches share the same 3500 lb gross trailer weight capacity. The Curt has a tongue weight capacity of 350 lbs while the EcoHitch has a capacity of 525 lbs. The primary difference between the two is that the EcoHitch model installs so the majority of the hitch is...

  • Does the EcoHitch Trailer Hitch for a 2008 Honda CR-V Require Rear Bumper Trimming
The EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 306-X7291 which is a fit for a 2008 Honda CR-V does indeed require trimming of the rear bumper fascia but no drilling. I have attached a photo of the required trimming for you which as you can see is very minor and there is even an included trim cover to place over the trimmed portion of the bumper which makes for a very clean install. Unfortunately, the draw back of the hidden install look and maintained ground clearance is trimming of...

The hitch opening of the EcoHitch # 306-X7291 is not removable like some versions of the EcoHitch offer. For your 2011 Honda CR-V there are no options that have removable hitch openings but this hitch is about as hidden as it can be since only the hitch opening is visible underneath the rear bumper of the vehicle.
