Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

2000 Toyota Tundra

Order 114745690, overall the product looks and feels high quality. But for some reason it doesn't align right with my 2000 tundra frame. It fits slightly more narrow than my frame. Either way going to have to drill and lose my warranty.... wonder if curt fits the same?

Etrailer Expert

Katrina B.

6/8/2023

The Curt, part # C13180, would fit slightly different. However, I do not think going with the Curt would fix your problem. It looks to me like the wings of the hitch were slightly flexed, which happens during shipping. I have a link below with more information on why it gets like that and how to fix it.

by:

Product quality and selection process on the etrailer website was a breeze. It shipped and arrived pronto. Installation was as easy as can be--bolted right on. Two years in, I've pulled by boat, a double snowmobile trailer and my landscape trailer with no problems. Pulls like a dream.

by:

Sturdy and easy to install. Went in without hitch!. Very Pleased.

I apologize for the way that it was delivered. It is not what we expect UPS to do. I will let our shipping department know about what happened.

by:

Pretty simple to install on the 2005 Toyota Tundra. Ready to TOW!

by:

Delivery was fast, fit perfectly

by:

Fit my truck perfectly. 2 day shipping A plus seller

by:

Would have given 5 stars if my hitch wasn't all dinged up and paint chipped everywhere. My hitch looks like it was dragged across the floor. Overall my hitch fits nicely with my tundra.

by:
2005 Toyota Tundra

Honestly I should give you 5 stars for the items as they both fit to a T!!!!!.Thanks Mac.

by:

Trailer hitch mounted up as expected.... Was slightly out of alignment, but was able to make it work. Has held up well. No issues.

by:

I would have to say that etrailer is one of my favorite places to shop online. They have a wide selection of products and they get whatever you order to you pretty quickly.

Ford Edge

George kept me informed at each step about the progress of my order and its expected arrival time. The shipment came just as he had predicted. The box that the hitch came in was a little beat up, and the hitch itself had a few dings in the finish on one edge. Otherwise this review would be rated "excellent." Even so, the hitch is of high quality construction and materials. It mounted just as advertised, a perfect fit. And it promises to do all the jobs that I have in mind for it: for example, carry my bikes on a bike carrier, and my canoe on an extended load arm. Despite the dings, I am very pleased with the product and with its price.

Craig G.

6/15/2018

The hitch has continued to work well for all the uses to which i put it.

by:
2002 Toyota Tundra

Fast delivery. The box was damaged when arrived but the hardware and the trailer hitch were in good condition and not damaged. If you are purchasing this for a 2002 Toyota Tundra and are not sure if it is a good fit, go on with your purchase and buy confidently because it is a perfect fit. The Toyota Tundra has 2 pre-soldered bolts in the back and 1 hole in the front. The hitch is heavy duty material and it is a perfect fit. Directions very clear to follow on how to install, although you can figure this out on your own even if you don't have them because it only goes one way. Very satisfied with the purchase and pleasure to do business with. Would buy again from this seller if I had the chance!

As expected after one year. No issues whatsoever.

by:
2001 Toyota Tundra

I've seen Draw-Tite on vehicles all over the place, so I was confident that it was well made, but the installation was so easy that I don't know why more people without a hitch receiver on there vehicle don't install one.

At 55 lbs. it's sort of a 2 man job, but at 61 years old, and with the help of a few tow straps to hold it in place I got it on in about 45 minutes... all by myself. This was on an 18 year-old truck (2001 Toyota Tundra), and it fit perfectly. The etrailer video was very helpful.

Excellent product, great price!

A year out, and its still in good shape.

by:

etrailer.com Customer Service provided excellent follow up communication and was extremely responsive.....Thank you!

One item to improve upon is the packaging of the hitch.
The receiver portion of the carton was torn open, and the ends protruded through the box....Fortunately there was no damage.

Hitch is working fine

by:

I broke my arm right after receiving the hitch, so I couldn’t install it myself. I had a local garage do the install, and I have to say, it looks way better than the original factory set up, espesially that this hitch has a place to attach the trailer electrical connection.

Bruce

7/3/2019

The hitch is working great. It looks so much better than the factory original because it tucks up under the bumper better.

by:

Bolted up in about a hour by myself. Ni ce!

by:
2002 Toyota Tundra

Very nice, everything lined up properly. Would be 5 stars but the bolts provided did not fit the frame welded nuts and I had to go get replacements.

Nice hitch, went right on once I had the proper 7/16 bolts.

by:
2003 Toyota Tundra

My hitch got here 2 days before the delivery date and fits perfectly

by:

Hitch has excellent Quality and fit my truck no problem. My Truck was old so I had some trouble with rust in my welded on nuts. I would suggest getting a friend to help hold it up during install and having an Air tool available if possible for those older installations.

Peter K.

9/22/2015

Its important to spray the welded nuts with WD-40 and brush then out with a steel brush a couple times. On my 15 year old Tundra I did that and the bolts can be turned with just my fingers. If you need an air tool to turn the bolts, the weld nuts are totally rusty and should have been cleaned first.

by:

fit exactly as it should have

2005 Toyota Tundra

After one year, I’m pretty impressed with the hitch. It’s been everything I expected. Mounted right to the frame of my 05 Tundra seamlessly once I got the old bolts removed from the rusted hitch. Just keep an eye on the rust As water often creeps up in those tight spaces. I did dust mine with a little black paint just to make sure Rust didn’t accumulate. I’ve pulled many trailers with it and had zero issues. And the price was outstanding from etrailer.

Hitch arrived on time and undamaged. This hitch was super easy to install on my 2002 Toyota Tundra. took about 20 min.

  • Could the Draw Tite Hitch 75107 Tow a Small Rental Trailer
The Draw Tite Trailer hitch part # 75105 would easily accommodate a rental trailer as long as the loaded weight of it is less than the capacity of the hitch. This hitch has a 5,000 lb total trailer weight capacity and a 500 lb tongue weight capacity. I also attached an install video for more info for you to check out.

  • 2000 Toyota Tundra Hitch Replacement and Towing Capacity
I looked up the towing capacity for the 2000 Toyota Tundra and it ranges between 4,950 to 7,200 lbs (please confirm with your owners manual). If you are looking for a hitch that includes the bolts and no drilling required for installation, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13180 if your Tundra excludes the factory towable bumper. If you have the factory towable bumper I recommend # 75105. However if the truck maxes out at 7,200 pounds, in this towing scenario, you will be limited...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch for a 2001 Toyota Tundra with Towable Bumper
I do have an option for you but the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 37130 will not work for you. The factory towable bumper has different brackets than the non-towable bumper which interferes with the installation of this hitch. Instead, I recommend using the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75105 as long as you do not have a factory trailer hitch. If you have both a towable bumper and the factory hitch then we do not have any options for you at this time.

  • Is a Towing Bumper on a 2006 Toyota Tundra Considered a Factory Hitch
What you describe is a towing bumper, but not a factory hitch. A towing bumper is usually limited to a 3500 lb towing / 350 lb tongue weight, but you should verify this by checking your owners manual. With a towing bumper, your trailer ball will be at a set height, which may or may not be compatible with the height of your trailer coupler. Having the trailer towing so that it is level is an important factor in helping to prevent trailer sway. If you can install a trailer ball into the...

The Draw Tite part # 75105 fits the 2001 Toyota Tundra whether it has the factory towable bumper or not so it would be a great choice. The towable bumper is one that has a ball hole in it for a hitch ball to mount in.
