Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

So far so good! Was a nice upgrade from the factory hitch receiver.

Good fit and easy installation

by:

The quality of the hitch is excellent. the only downside is that Toyota designs their hitches to be part of the assembly holding the rear bumper. to adequately support the bumper, I had to cut off the supports from the old hitch and weld them onto the new hitch. After installation, I covered the hitch with marine grease as I live in a marine environment. the hitch is holding up and looks great.

It has been one year and the hitch is like new, performing well. Ill put another coat of marine grease on it as it seems to do the trick in terms of corrosion.

Pros: I had no trouble raising the hitch by myself using a motorcycle jack placed under the receiver. After determining I did not speak French or Spanish, the English version of the installation instructions was helpful. By all appearances, (without x raying the welds,) the hitch looks bullet-proof. Considering the size and weight of this thing, I'm amazed at how quickly the item was shipped and received at my humble abode.
Cons: The paint is a bit soft. There were several small areas where paint had been chipped off or worn off the hitch. The reason for some of the missing paint was obvious; the plastic wrapping and clear tape surrounding the hitch had been worn off in a few locations. In other locations, the wrapping was intact over the areas containing missing paint.

My son and I installed this morning. Perfect fit. Love it!

Heavy DutyI decided to buy this hitch when my Curt Class III hitch bent as I was pulled out of a snowdrift. I have absolutely no doubts that this extremely heavy duty hitch will outlast the truck. I ordered this product on 12/21/10, it shipped on 12/21/10, and it was delivered on 12/23/10! etrailer.com gave me free expedited shipping and it was delivered exactly 50 hours after I ordered it! I will definately buy from etrailer.com again!

by:

Good product at a decent price. It did come with some paint sratches, but that was easy to remedy. The company was quick to respond and has excellent customer service. The hitch itself is solid as a rock!

by:

I received the hitch just a couple of days after I placed my order with etrailer. These folks are REALLY good!!! Very helpful both with ordering the hitch and with follow-up questions. Would I recommend etrailer to my friends??.....Heck Yeah!!!

  • Recommended Towing Equipment for towing a 8,800 lb Dry Trailer with a 2014 Toyota Tundra
Since your 2014 Toyota Tundra has a towing capacity that is 1,000 lbs over the 8,800 lb dry weight of your trailer you will need to be pretty cautious. If you don't plan on loading anything up in the trailer then the 1,000 lb of cushion is great but if you will be loading the trailer up to the max towing capacity of your Tundra you will need to be very careful. If you don't already have towing equipment (or a brake controller) then I have some recommendations for you. The Draw-Tite Ultra...

  • Recommendation For Pulling 2018 R-Pod 179 With 2018 Toyota Tundra
Based on my research, you probably will not need a weight distribution system and sway control may not be necessary. Sway can be reduced and even controlled with a more even packing of your trailer. If this does not give you the control you need then I would add a Reese Friction Sway Control Kit, Item # 83660. It is compatible with electric brakes, does not allow for backing up, and installs and removes easily. If you do not already have a towing setup for pulling your 2018 R-Pod with...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2018 Toyota Tundra without Factory Hitch
For your 2018 Toyota Tundra we have the Draw Tite hitch part # 41935 which is a confirmed fit and would be a great option. It has a towing capacity of 12,000 lb and a tongue weight capacity of 1,200 lbs. It's also designed to fit all versions of the 2018 Tundra that don't have the factory hitch. You should note too that a 4-pole wiring harness tucked behind the bumper towards the middle. I attached an install video for the hitch for you to check out as well.

  • Can the Factory Trailer Hitch on a 2018 Toyota Tundra be Replaced
The only trailer hitch receiver we have that will work on models equipped with a class III factory trailer hitch is the TorkLift SuperHitch Hero Trailer Hitch Receiver part # TLT1300H. If you have the class IV factory trailer hitch then we would not have any trailer hitch receivers for you. If you are unsure whether or not you have a class III or class IV factory trailer hitch then you can take a look at the safety chain loops. If they are vertical then you have a class III but if they...

  • Towing Capacity of 2014 Toyota Tundra Crewmax 5.7L 2WD
According to the online owners manual for the 2014 Toyota Tundra the maximum that the truck can tow is 10,400 pounds and that is for a specific model (2-wheel drive, regular cab, long bed with 5.7 liter and factory towing package). The Double and CrewMax cab styles have slightly lower ratings of 10,100 and 9900-lbs respectively. You will want to check your printed manual or contact a local dealership with the truck's VIN so they can look up all of its factory equipment. These are the best...

  • Will Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver 41935 Fit My 2008 Toyota Tundra With Aftermarket Rear Bumper?
The Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class IV - 2" # 41935 is an excellent choice and is confirmed to fit your 2008 Toyota Tundra. You likely will not have an issue, but it really depends on if your aftermarket rear bumper hangs lower than the factory bumper. To determine exact fitment in your situation, you will want to measure from the ground to the bottom of your bumper. This hitch measures 18-1/4" from ground to top of hitch receiver when the truck is equipped...

  • Hitch Recommendations For 2020 Toyota Tundra
Great question. Yes you can tow a 1986 prowler with a 2020 Toyota Tundra. The models over 30 feet start to gain weight and will get up to 8000 pounds, not knowing the exact model I will base everything off of max weight so we will have wiggle room. Make sure you check your owners manual and see the towing capacity of your truck and do not exceed that limit. If it is a standard travel trailer I recommend the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class IV - 2" # 41935. If...

  • Higher Rated Trailer Hitch for a 2007 Toyota Tundra with Sport Appearance Package
Is your trailer hitch a factory installed hitch? If so I am not sure why they would put that hitch on your 2007 Toyota Tundra since all configurations that have the 5.7 liter motor have a towing capacity that exceeds 500/5,000 pounds easily. If the hitch is bolted on then it could be an aftermarket hitch that the dealer put on. In that case you can replace it with Draw-Tite Class IV & V Ultra Frame Receiver Hitch - 2007 Toyota Tundra # 41935 which is rated for 1,200/12,000 pounds. However,...

  • Replacement Mounting Hardware for a Trailer Hitch on a 2013 Toyota Tundra
If you happen to know the brand and model of the hitch you can order replacement hardware to mount the hitch using # RHK. On the RHK page you would enter the hitch number and choose the manufacturer from the menu on the RHK page to get the proper hardware. The hardware from the old hitch should not be reused since it is designed to be torqued down only once. If the hitch is a factory Toyota hitch you will need to obtain the proper hardware from a Toyota dealer.

  • Will the Draw-Tite Hitch Replace the Factory Hitch On a 2010 Toyota Tundra With Aftermarket Bumper
The Westin HDX Rear Bumper part # 58-270715 which is a fit for a 2010 Toyota Tundra does not retain the factory trailer hitch mounting points so you should in theory be able to mount the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 41935 in place of the factory trailer hitch. The frame attachment points will be the same. The only issue I see is that the trailer hitch and rear bumper could come into contact due to the hitch being modeled after the factory bumper dimensions but there...

  • Can Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch 41935 Have Capacity to Carry 400 lb Motorcycle & Carrier
Absolutely! You can easily carry the combined 400 lb weight of your motorcycle and motorcycle carrier with the Draw-Tite hitch you asked about: - Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 41935 This hitch has a 1,200 lb tongue weight capacity like you mentioned so it is more than enough for the 400 lbs you'll be transporting.

  • Mounting a Winch Plate and Front Mount Trailer Hitch on a 2007 Toyota Tundra 2WD
I spoke with my contact at Curt and he stated that the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch, # 31198, will not sit flush with the bumper on your 2007 Toyota Tundra 2WD, but about 2-3 inches back. We offer the Curt Electric Winch Mount Plate, # C31010, that has three pin holes that will allow you to adjust the distance of the winch plate from the vehicle. The measurement from the furthest pin hole to the mounting plate is 8-1/4 inches. I have attached a picture showing these measurements. This...

  • Comparing Draw-Tite and Curt Trailer Hitches for the 2013 Toyota Tundra
The Curt and Draw-Tite trailer hitches for yoru 2013 Toyota Tundra will be the same part numbers no matter which bumper type you have on your truck. Curt hitch # C15398 is actually a Class V hitch. There is no Draw-Tite Class V option but the Class IV is # 41935. The Curt hitch is rated much higher at 2,400 pounds tongue weight and 16,000 pounds gross trailer weight which likely exceeds the vehicle's capacities (conuslt owners manual for your trucks capacities). • Recommended Hitch for a 2008 Toyota Tundra
Since you're willing to remove your 2008 Toyota Tundra's factory hitch, I recommend the etrailer Hitch item # e66KR. This is a class V hitch with a 2" receiver. It has a massive 16,000 lbs towing capacity, which is the closest capacity hitch to your 8,500 lbs boat trailer that doesn't require a weight distribution hitch. I recommend spraying the bolts holding your current hitch on with WD-40 for a few days prior to trying to remove them. See if you can get them loosened then spray up...

  • Aftermarket Hitch for 2012 Toyota Tundra Rock Warrior TRD with Damaged Factory-Installed Hitch
We do offer a range of trailer hitch options for your 2012 Toyota Tundra Rock Warrior TRD. Since your factory-installed hitch has been damaged you'll naturally need to remove this entirely. You could also use Curt trailer hitch # C15398. I have included links to the installation instructions for each for you.
