Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Exactly what I wanted. Since I installed it on a Ford F53 chassis with a modified (extended) frame for a motorhome there was some drilling required, but overall a straight forward install. Tows as it should.

  • Hitch that Can Fit 2006 Ford E-450 Cab and Chassis Shuttle Bus
Since your 2006 Ford E-450 shuttle bus was built on a cab and chassis truck the hitch you'd want is the part # 41547 which fits the narrower frame width of the cab and chassis versions of the truck.

  • How to Find Centering of Draw-Tite Max-E-Loader Trailer Hitch Receiver for Motorhome
The Draw-Tite Max-E-Loader Trailer Hitch Receiver # 41547 is symmetrical so while I don't have the center location of the receiver right off-hand, what I can say is that you will be able to measure the distance between the mounting points (or even the frame of your vehicle) and the receiver will be right in the middle of that measurement (see attached).

  • 2010 Blue Bird All American Bus Trailer Hitch Recommendation
The Draw-Tite Max-E-Loader Trailer Hitch Receiver # 41547 is a custom fit hitch for certain year make models of Ford Super Duty Cab and Chassis trucks. The mounting holes vary in width distance but they are all about 31" apart on center, and the top of the receiver to the vehicle frame will be about 6-1/2". Since you're looking to install a hitch on a bus I recommend looking into a universal heavy duty hitch receiver like the Curt # 15903. This is a weld-on installation that a shop can...

  • Hitch Recommendation for E-450 with Ambulance Body
Ambulances are really pretty hard to fit a hitch too since the ambulance bodies all vary quite a bit and none of our hitch manufacturers have decided to come up with a fit for them. I spoke to my contacts at Curt and Reese and the only styles of hitches that can be made to fit a service body (ambulance) truck like yours are multi-fit RV hitches like the # 41990 that has a 16k capacity. This is a weld on hitch that would require either the 7 inch drop brackets part # 4907 or the 16 inch...

  • Trailer Hitch Receiver Options For a 2013 Ford E-350 Cutaway Chassis
It sounds like your 2013 Ford E-350 cutaway chassis will need the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 14055. This receiver is specific to fitting the cutaway chassis with the mounting bolt holes 38-5/8" on center. If your holes are not this and the 38-5/8" is the frame width you will need a Universal Receiver # 15901 as there is not a custom fit available. The Receiver # 41547 you found is for a F-Series cutaway chassis and will not fit your E-350.

  • Trailer Hitch for 2005 Jayco Greyhawk GS30 and Flat Tow Items for 2014 Ram 1500 Laramie
I always respect the manufacturers posted weight ratings when towing and hauling, I never push to the max and caution against exceeding those ratings. OEM's are required to complete rigorous testing before a vehicle is released for sale, this testing has been developed over decades of process improvements. Personally I prefer to stay at least 10 percent below the max rating for payload, towing and combined weights but I caution against exceeding them in any way. You state "...need to...
